Turkey Trots and Quality Miles
With Thanksgiving, the week was all over the place. Not many weeks you race on a random Thursday. That being said, it was a good week overall.
Monday: | Easy 40 minutes + ART with Dr. Craig |
Tuesday: | Rest |
Wednesday: | Easy 6.3 miles |
Thursday: | Turkey Trot (20:33) |
Friday: | Easy 6 miles |
Saturday: | Easy 6.3 miles |
Sunday: | Harder effort 10 miles averaging 7:57 pace |
Thoughts:
This week was fine as far as running goes. My goal for November and December is to build up mileage for faster Spring races. I said that last year, too, but it seemed and felt like life got in the way. Hopefully, this isn’t the case for 2020 too. My goal for the next month is to continue to build mileage.

Medford Lakes Turkey Trot: 20:33
I wasn’t expecting this race to go as well as it did. After running a 21:38 last week, I was frustrated but thought that was the type of fitness I was in. Last week showed I’m in better fitness than I thought, but still, I have a long way to go.
Anyway, the race itself was windy, but the temperature was wonderful (last year it was about 15 degrees). I was “fairly even” with my splits and ran a 6:34, 6:36, 6:50. The last mile had some headwind, but other than that, I didn’t feel too bad.
