Spiced Pear Waffle
Another Monday, another pancake and waffle recipe. Sometimes I get nervous that all the pancake and waffle recipe ideas are taken. But lucky for you guys that is not the case…at least not in this case…or probably ever really the case. I like pears and cinnamon. I’ve been craving fruit and sweet things lately (maybe that’s because it’s getting warmer, I don’t know).
With fall happening, spiced pear waffles and cooked apple waffles are the ultimate breakfast comfort food. Spiced pear waffles are easy and straightforward.
Spiced Pear Waffle Recipe:
½ cup flour
1 egg
1 tablespoon oil
1 teaspoon baking powder
Cinnamon to taste
½ cup chopped pear
Sweetener to taste (I added about ¼ stevia)
½-1 cup milk (less for pancakes…more for waffles). You can use water, almond milk, or regular milk. Whatever works for you.
Spiced Pear Waffle Recipe Directions:
- Mix all dry ingredients together in a large bowl
- Add wet ingredients together and mix in a separate mixing bowl.
- Add dry ingredients to the spiced pear waffle ingredients.
- Pour waffle batter into waffle iron and wait until golden brown.
- Serve with toppings of choice including more spiced pear, maple syrup, chocolate chips, or whipped cream.
If you like pears and cinnamon, you’ll love a spiced pear waffle. Spiced pear waffles are perfect for the fall season and sure to be a hit for anyone.
Question for you:
Do you like pears?
Mmmm, looks good! I’ve been on the hunt for the Chobani pear yogurt to try, and I can’t find it anywhere. That probably means I should just buy actual pears instead. 😉
They shockingly have it at the Walmart here. Have you checked walmart or target?
Looks yummy….just like all the rest of them!
I’m with on the sweet stuff! I have been having the WORST cravings, so annoyingggg.
I loved baked fruit so this sounds tasty!
Looks delicious! We are having waffles for dinner tonight, pretty sure there is a pear around this house somewhere…
I’m more of a waffles + fruit person than red velvet or chocolate waffles to be honest! I mean, you can’t go wrong with pumpkin but otherwise I would choose fruit topping over anything. Pears are up there in my list of fruits. I kinda like the grain-y texture.
MMM. I do quite enjoy pumpkin as well. I enjoy mixing it up with fruit occasionally as well. 🙂
This looks so good. When I first saw your title, I thought it said “spicy pear waffles.” Spiced definitely sounds a lot better! 😉
I always forget that Monday = breakfast recipe and then I see the post and get excited EVERY time. This one just seems as amazing as the others!
Oooh I love spiced pears…especially when baked/cooked in some way….omg you’re right, that would make for an incredible pancake/waffle! I must definitely try this. One question about the recipe though….a whole tablespoon of baking powder? I know in a recipe for 12 muffins you only use a teaspoon….just wondering lol
Whoops you are right! I actually used a whole teaspoon (not a whole tablespoon) but I’ve always been a bit of baking powder overuser though.
I love pears 🙂 Have you ever had pear pie? That is what this waffle reminds me of. OK so if you like pears you should try a pear + swiss cheese + cashew grilled cheese. On a really nice a thick rye bread. OMG it is a favorite of mine
I love pears and cinnamon and therefore, would love this! I don’t buy pears that often, but when I do, it’s always a nice treat and way to change things up from the fruit I normally eat.
Mmmm.. I always forget about pears!
I swear you should make a pancake/waffle cookbook~ I would totally buy it!
I saw this recipe for Trocpical Waffle French Toast pop up in my inbox today and immediately thought of this post! Here’s the recipe: http://www.hungry-girl.com/weighin/show/2559
