The last month has been a whirlwind and I honestly don’t know where to begin. I got married…I went on a honeymoon (which was the most fun of my life) and now today I’m back…back in real life. I did a lot of stuff that will never make the blog. I made a lot of memories that won’t be blogged about…
To say these last few weeks were incredible is an understatement.
Between my wedding, honeymoon and my new found enjoyment of running injury free, I don’t really know where to begin blogging. So here is a little recap of the last month and I’ll break it down at a later time.
For T and I, our wedding was perfect. We got to see a lot of family and friends and enjoy the evening with them. Everything went perfectly (thanks to my wedding planner and vendors). We didn’t have to worry about anything and could just enjoy the entire evening.
I did a post about our wedding here.
Here are just a few photos (more to come):
We went to Key West, Florida for a few days followed by boarding a cruise. We both really enjoyed doing this and we felt like we did a lot of fun and new things.
In Florida, we rode a glass bottom boat and saw dolphins.
In St. Maartin, we went kayaking and snorkeling.
I somehow ended up dancing and booty popping on stage for the “World’s Sexiest Man” competition. That is a lolz post in itself…
In summary, the 10 day honeymoon was perfect for us and that is all that matters. We didn’t stay up until 3am drinking nor did we drink every single night (but we did indulge and spent 10 stress and worry free days). We came back to NJ still married and that is important…
I posted a long winded summary yesterday but right now I’m running injury free (knock on wood). I made a few mistakes along the way from racing to not seeing a specialist sooner but I’m excited to begin running well again. During our honeymoon, we ran together most days. It was hot, we weren’t acclimated to the weather but it was really enjoyable because I was running injury free.
Since I won’t get to writing a post about running goals for a while, my major goal of the summer is actually participate in 5-10ks versus talking about running them and never signing up. I think reworking my turnover and not focusing on 20 mile runs will be beneficial for my body. Who knows where the later summer and fall will take me but I will approach that topic at another time.
Long story short, it was a great month for everything. I’m excited to be back and begin “Real” real life. Thank you everyone for their love and support. It truly means a lot to both of us.
Welcome back–all good things here! I’m so happy you and Tim had a memorable day and honeymoon, and I can’t wait to see how big you guys do it this year. 🙂
What a fun month! Congrats to you on everything! And that sexiest man contest -lol!
Welcome back! Sometimes a month of real life is just what a runner needs to get healthy and happy. And what a great way to spend your month, congratulations again and it looks like your honeymoon was the best. 🙂
Your dress was gorgeous, everyone looks so awesome in all of the pics you (and others) have shared, and you and Tim look to have had so much fun … and that you had YOUR fun is really all that matters!
And YAY for healthy running!
It looks like you had a great time at the wedding (I read the post and it was wonderful!) and on the honeymoon. Hooray for coming back still married! We visited Key West back in 2010 on a cruise, just stopped there, and I really loved it. It’s one port I could see myself going back to and staying a few days. Glad you guys got to spend some of your honeymoon there!
Good luck focusing on 5K/10K! I think now that your #bumbutt is on the mend, you will do *great*!
That’s an incredible 5k time! Holy shit. And I’m really happy to hear you’re back to running injury-free. I’ve got some issues with my hip right now that need to sort themselves out before I race a half at the end of May. In the meantime, I’m stuck on the loathsome stationary bike. Congratulations on all your happenings! You’ve got a lot going on and omg I’d do anything to watch you shake it at the sexiest man contest! You’re such a hoot.
Welcome back! I’ve missed having you around! It sounds like a fantastic honeymoon and month all around. Running injury free is some nice icing on the cake. Enjoy your return to real life (as a married woman!).
I’m so happy for you! What a great month! I loved seeing your honeymoon pictures! What a fun trip to be able to take with your new husband! I’m so happy for you and Tim! What a fun time to be having together and entering in to!
I’ve missed your posts! But I’m really glad you had such a great month. You look so happy and your honeymoon looked like an absolute blast! I LOLed at the insta of you dancing. Welcome back 🙂
Welcome back, Hollie 🙂 I love that you had such an amazing month that “won’t be blogged about”… some things you just can’t put into words, nor should you try. Although I’m gonna have to insist that you spill more deers about the World’s Sexiest Man scenario 😉
Yay, yay, yay! I’m so glad life is great because you so deserve it! I can’t wait to race together this summer. 🙂
Oh my goodness. Your dress, hair, makeup… wedding everything is BEAUTIFUL! And i loooove key west and cruises. That is exactly what I would do too! I don’t drink, smoke, gamble, enjoy clubbing, or any of that. Every time I go to Vegas or on vacation, it’s like spa trips, shows, and early nights of sleep hahaha. Those are the BEST vacations. (Well, I prefer camping and hiking/climbing, but spa style are great too heh)
Thank you Mary! We had our fair share of drinks and idol over the casino but we didn’t spend every second doing that 🙂
I think you’ll be able to get that 5k PR soon 😉
and Congrats to you and your husband on such a big month for you two.! sounds like tons of fun also 🙂
So happy for you, Hollie! Now…is it Mrs. T? Or Mr. Lolz?
Actually he just assumes the name FueledbyFuel! 😉
I’m so glad you had a great month! That honeymoon sounds like it was full of fun and lolz.
YAY for still being married after the honeymoon! LOLz. I say that’s the biggest victory. I’m glad you’re feeling better about running. As you said, I think these experiences kind of help us grasp where we are supposed to be as far as distance running. Some people enjoy marathons; some people enjoy 5ks. You’ll find your groove thang!
You came home from your honeymoon still married: VERY IMPORTANT! I hope T doesn’t have to leave so soon and you two can enjoy married life together at home for a while
