Reebok FloatZig 1 Adventure Review

Reebok FloatZig 1 Adventure Review

The Reebok FloatZig 1 Adventure are designed for trails. I find Reebok to be a fairly underrated running shoe brand. They make some great options, although many runners have never tried them. The brand-new Adventure are a great option for running the trails. It’s been fun to watch Reebok create new running shoes and offerings including trail shoes and carbon plated.

Before trying the Reebok FloatZig 1 Adventure, I had a few questions:

  • Are the Reebok FloatZig 1 Adventure good for trails? Of course, they handle trail terrain well without sliding around, whether you are climbing mountains or running on well-groomed trails.
  • Do the Reebok FloatZig 1 Adventure fit true to size? Yes, typically Reebok running shoes fit true to size, and the Adventure is no different.

Reebok FloatZig 1 Adventure Fit:

The upper of the FloatZig 1 Adventure is made of durable textile material that feels comfortable when putting it on. The lace closure system ensures a snug fit, allowing you to adjust the tightness to your preference. The upper is breathable, which is essential as we enter the warmer months in the desert.

The best running shoe uppers disappear off your feet, and I found the FloatZig 1 Adventure to do just that. I didn’t have any hot spots or irritation. I do find the FloatZig 1 Adventure to run slightly long and narrow. It’s not enough I needed to adjust sizes, but those with wide or double-wide feet might prefer a half size bigger.

I typically wear between a size 10-11 wide in running shoes and found the size 11 in the Reebok FloatZig 1 Adventure to fit the best.

Reebok FloatZig 1 Adventure Ride:

The Floatride Energy Foam midsole in the FloatZig 1 Adventure offers exceptional cushioning and energy return. The Zig-shaped geometry enhances the lightweight feel of the shoes, making them a great option for longer trails. The dual-density midsole with CMEVA support ensures that your feet stay comfortable and supported throughout your adventure.

I’ve found most Reebok running shoes to feel decent on trails, but the Adventure is next level. I feel like I could run for miles on the sandy trails with no issues of my feet hurting. I usually run the half mile to the trails in them (why change shoes) and I’ve found they are fine for short bouts on the pavement too. I’ve used them on the sandy and runnable desert as well as climbing steep sand dunes. In all, they feel good. They have quickly become one of my favorite trail shoes.

I can see them being a great trail hiking shoe too. In fact, I’ve used them a couple of times for hiking and haven’t had any issues, and they’ve been comfortable throughout the hike.

Outsole:

The high-traction rubber outsole of the Reebok FloatZig 1 Adventure is designed specifically for gravel and trail running. There aren’t a lot of shoes that can handle gravel well! The angled lugs provide a dependable grip on steep uphill or even downhill, ensuring you stay steady on your feet. Additionally, the abrasion-resistant 3D print toe cap protects your feet from sticks, tree roots, and stones, enhancing the durability of the shoes.

I expect the FloatZig 1 Adventure to last somewhere around 400 miles. I’ve put about 100 miles on mine and haven’t had any issues with them slowing down.

Reebok FloatZig 1 Adventure Conclusion:

The FloatZig 1 Adventure are a great choice for those looking for a trail running or hiking shoe. With their lightweight design, superior cushioning, and durable construction, these shoes are ready to tackle any trail. Whether you’re climbing steep hills or running through rugged trails, the FloatZig 1 Adventure will keep you comfortable and supported every step of the way.

Who should purchase the Reebok FloatZig 1 Adventure? Anyone looking for a trail running or hiking shoe will likely appreciate them. I’ve found they can handle almost any type of trails.

Who should not purchase the Reebok FloatZig 1 Adventure? I don’t have any major reasons. If you have a wide or double-wide foot, you may prefer something that is wider. Or if you are looking for a strictly road shoe, these aren’t your shoes, and there are plenty of other options, even from Reebok.

  1. I’m really old so I remember buying shows for strength training, I had a choice, black or white Reeboks..ASICS I think were still Tiger and there were a few other brands but they were it……trail or hiking, I’m leaning towards my Ons, but have been using Saucony Peregrines a lot…
