Hoka Ora Slide 3 Review

The Hoka Ora Slide 3 is one of the most comfortable, cushioned, and supportive choices. Plus, it’s one of the most durable. Made for relaxing and recovering after workouts, the Ora Slide is a great option after a hard run. I was excited to try the latest Hoka Ora Slide.

Hoka Ora Slide 3 Review

I’ve reviewed a few Hoka Slides and Sandals including:

I was curious to see how the Hoka Ora Slide 3 would compare to other Hoka offerings. Right off the bat, the Ora Slide 3 is much more sleek than previous versions. Hoka slides were never “good looking,” but this year they have gotten slightly better. There are so many fun colors now; I want a different color to match each of my outfits. I think I’ll need to invest in a few pairs.

Hoka Ora Slide 3 Fit:

The HOKA Ora Recovery Slide 3 is designed for athletes. Immediately when you slide it on, it fits well. It fits slightly wide, which is a great thing considering that after a long run or workout, your feet generally swell. You want a slightly wider flip flop.

This year, Hoka has added four airflow channels for better breathability. It also features an earth-friendly sugarcane footbed. The upper is much softer, and I find it much more comfortable than previous versions.

In running shoes, I usually wear between a 10-11 wide. I’ve found the size 10 of the Hoka Ora Slide 3 to fit the best.

Hoka Ora Slide 3 Ride:

The Hoka Ora Slide 3 features a dual-density geometry with an early-stage Meta-Rocker. What does that all mean? It means it’s going to help you roll through your walking gait cycle and feel plush under your feet. There isn’t much to say about a slide, but I do believe the Hoka Ora Slide 3 is one of the softest running slides out there. I notice a big difference between wearing it and a cheap flip flop.

Durability and Traction:

I have to talk about the Hoka Ora Slide durability here, because it’s significantly better than other brands (yes, including Oofos). I’ve found it lasts anywhere between 2-3X the length of other brands. I used to wonder why my slides only lasted a month or two, but honestly I wear them everywhere outside of running so it’s an actual miracle they last more than a month. I’ve guestimated I probably put anywhere between 300-500 miles on each pair of slides. I think next time I’m going to actually count the mileage (somehow).

As far as traction, don’t expect you can walk around on a snowy day, but it does get enough traction to keep you on the ground in normal conditions.

Cost:

At $60, it is more expensive than cheap sandals but compared to other slides with cushion, it is about the same price. The thing that makes the Ora Slide 3 different is its durability. I appreciate they don’t break down as quickly.

Are the Hoka Ora 3 Slides good for plantar fasciitis?

As we know plantar fasciitis, is the hardest injury to spell, say, and have. You have to do everything right to heal since you’re always on your feet. If you are wearing shoes without cushion, then it’s just going to aggravate the injury. The Ora Slide 3 are a great and well cushioned option to keep the injury at bay or help you recover. Just wearing the slides won’t help you recover, but they are a piece of the puzzle towards your recovery.

How does the Hoka Slide compare to Oofos Slides?

Hoka slides are more durable and more firm. Hoka Slides are still very soft, but Oofos are even softer. Both provide a ton of cushion and are great after a hard workout. They are both great slides but if you are wanting a slightly firmer or more durable slide, I would choose the Ora Slide 3. If you are wanting the most soft slide possible, then choose Oofos.

Hoka Ora Slide 3 Conclusion:

The Hoka Ora Slide is a great option for when you aren’t running. It can be easy to forget our feet need cushion when we aren’t running too. Plus, it’s great to see them looking better and better!
