Andy’s Diner and Pub (Conshohocken, PA)

Andy's Diner and Pub (Conshohocken, PA)

I was excited to try Andy’s Diner and Pub in Conshohocken, PA. It’s been a little while since I’ve been to a new metallic, shiny, retro diner. I was excited to get back to an east coast diner. We went after running at Wissahickon Park. Despite running at Wissahickon several times while living in New Jersey, I’ve never actually been to Andy’s Diner and Pub. I hadn’t heard of it until I saw it was the closest diner to my hotel.

Andy’s Diner and Pub Atmosphere: A

When I first saw the name, I expected it to be some pub vibes, but when we pulled up, it was all retro, metallic diner. It didn’t have any real pub vibes at all. Not really a big deal, but what makes it a pub? I’ll probably never know. Anyway, it’s a big shiny diner. Inside it has plenty of booths and tables like you would expect in a diner.

I didn’t order any coffee this time as I was trying to get onto East Coast.

Andy’s Diner and Pub Food: B

Like most diners, Andy’s Diner and Pub’s menu have a full line of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. A few of the items that stood out on Andy’s Diner and Pub menu include:

  • They have a buffet. I didn’t notice it but also didn’t look either.
  • No. 13: Angus N.Y. Strip Steak & Three Eggs Any Style, served with Home Fries and Toast.
  • Stuffed French Toast: Two pieces of French toast stuffed with sweet cream cheese and topped with whipped cream Combo served with 2 Eggs, 2 Slices of Bacon, and 2 Sausages
  • Cheese Blintzes: Three crêpes stuffed with sweet mixed Ricotta and powder sugar, topped with whipped cream
  • Grilled Shrimp Kebab
  • BLT with french fries

Ultimately, I decided to be boring and get the BLT. It was ok, but it was a little dry. I could have used a condiment or something. The french fries were about the same through also dry. While my meal wasn’t terrible, it could have used some seasoning or something.

Andy’s Diner and Pub Service: D

The wait staff and hostess were pretty rude. We asked a couple of questions, and they talked to us and gave us a bit of attitude. None of my interactions felt good. I get that they were busy, but it seemed like everything we asked was a bother.

Cost: $

For a BLT, it was $15. Not the most expensive diner nor the cheapest, but certainly more affordable than the West Coast.

Overall Thoughts/Would I Come Back to Andy’s Diner and Pub?

Truthfully I am not sure. There are a ton of menu options I wouldn’t mind trying, but the attitude of the wait staff turned me off. Plus, plenty of other better diners, including Minella’s Diner, aren’t too far away. I am always willing to give places a second chance, though.
