Nuun Prime Review
Recently I tried the Nuun Prime. Before purchasing, I couldn’t find any Nuun Prime reviews. The only thing I heard was Nuun Prime was better before runs. Living in the desert, I wondered would Nuun Prime actually be better than regular Nuun?
One of the most common questions I’m asked is: “how do you pronounce Nuun”? Like noon. Nuun was the first company to separate electrolytes from carbohydrates. Before Nuun was created, if you wanted to get electrolytes, you were also forced to drink a sugary product.
12 years later, Nuun is the number one selling sports drink tab in the cycling, running, and outdoor specialty marketplaces.
About Nuun Prime:
What is it?
According to the website, Prime is a hydrating, plant-based pre-workout drink mix with electrolytes, vegan BCAAs, and adaptogens. It is designed to maximize hydration, increase mental focus, and defend your muscles from excessive fatigue. That is a lot of claims for one product. I just want something that hydrates!
The new Prime is meant to be a pre-workout supplement that prepares you for a more intense training session. It has a unique mixture of BCAAs intended to prepare you for longer and more intense training sessions. Apparently, there is also prebiotics to help minimize any gut issues and ginseng to help with alertness. Plus, it has both electrolytes and amino acids. It does have 25-35 calories per dose.

My experience with Nuun Prime:
I won’t say I’ve had the most positive experience with Nuun flavors. I prefer something sweeter than the regular Nuun and Nuun Instant. Of course, the product’s effectiveness is the most essential to me, but I do like to enjoy what I’m drinking. Right off the bat, I was surprised when the Prime turned purple in water. I don’t know what I was expecting, but not that. Anyway, when I tasted it, I was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. It’s one of my more favorite Nuun flavors and electrolyte flavors in general.
I first used the Nuun Prime before a long run. I definitely noticed a difference in using an electrolyte beverage versus not. I appreciated feeling better. I’ve since used it before several harder workouts and felt better each time. Of all of the Nuun products, I do feel the most benefit from drinking Nuun Prime beforehand.
Nuun Prime Conclusion:
In all, I think the Nuun Prime is a good product. As far as flavors go, it’s my favorite flavor of any Nuun product, and I do appreciate the lack of carbonation. I notice a difference, and I would be curious about how the caffeinated Nuun Prime is.
