Recently I decided to try Ultima Replenisher as an electrolyte and hydration product. I liked the idea of a no-sugar electrolyte drink during the day.
Why is Electyrotes Important?
I wrote a post about electrolytes here. In short, electrolytes help prevent muscle cramping, but they go beyond that. A few more electrolyte deficiency symptoms include leg cramps, dry mouth, muscle weakness, stiff and achy joints, nausea, constipation, dizziness, and fatigue. Even chronic cases of diarrhea, congestive heart failure, or severe blood pressure problems can occur.
What is Ultima?
The mantra of Ultima is “Live your ultimate life, every day.” They’ve been making electrolyte hydration drink powders for over 20 years. This is interesting because despite being one of the oldest electrolyte products, Ultima is one of the least talked about.
Ultima Replenisher is an advanced, balanced electrolyte drink that provides hydration with six electrolytes. It also doesn’t contain any junk, sugar, or calories. It’s sweetened with Stevia leaf.
Ultima is the perfect electrolyte replacement: delicious, healthy, and effective.
What makes Ultima Different?
Ultima contains electrolytes without the sugar. It’s all of these things:
- Vegan
- Non-GMO
- Gluten-Free
- Caffeine-Free (thankfully, I’ve tried to cut down caffeine recently)
- Sweetened with organic Stevia leaf
- Real fruit extract flavors
- Peanut-Free
- Soy-Free
Six Electrolytes found in Ultima Replenisher:
- Calcium
- Chloride
- Magnesium
- Phosphorous
- Potassium
- Sodium

Finally, Ultima Gives Back:
Something super important to me moving into 2021 is brands that give back. Ultima has a partnership with the Autism Hope Alliance. They are the first non-profit foundation for Autism to emerge from the natural foods industry.
My Experience:
As many readers know, while running, I generally prefer calories in my electrolyte products. I don’t always use gels, and I find something with calories helps give me energy. My stomach is usually fine.
The sticks in Ultima Replenisher are easy to use. You just rip them open and dissolve them into roughly 16 ounces of water. When being a single stick, they travel well, too, if you are on the go. Like any single-serve product, I do wish there was a way to use less plastic and materials.
While Ultima Replenisher doesn’t have calories, it’s easy to consume, and you do feel the electrolytes. I wouldn’t use it as your only source of nutrition and hydration on a long run, but it’s a great supplement.
I’ve been able to try each of the 6 flavors:
So far, I’ve sampled all five flavors;
- Cherry Pomegranate:
- Blue raspberry (my favorite)
- Lemonade
- Grape
- Orange
- Raspberry
None of them taste fake or artificial, which I like. I hate consuming anything that tastes like straight chemicals…which can sometimes be an issue with hydration and energy gels. Sometimes I even find that products sweetened with Stevia leaf taste this way; luckily, it’s not an issue I’ve had.
Many people find Ultima to be sweeter than other hydration products. For me, it’s not an issue, and I prefer a sweeter drink.
Conclusion:
If you are looking for a hydration brand, Ultima is a great option. It’s a clean company that gives back. If you are looking for a zero-calorie electrolyte option, Ultima Replenisher is a good choice. For me, it works perfectly during the day when I’m trying to stay appropriately hydrated.

Thanks for the info. I sweat a lot when I’m training and always looking for a great electrolyte replacement.
