DripDrop ORS Hydration Review

DripDrop ORS Hydration Review

In my quest to find more hydration products, I decided to try DripDrop Hydration! DripDrop hydration is different from any other hydration product but in a good way. You can try for yourself here.

I actually didn’t realize until writing up this review it’s “DripDrop” not “Drip Drop”. So one word. 🙂

So What is DripDrop ORS? What makes it different?

As you know, many different products advertise electrolytes and having more. The reality is, the numbers don’t really matter, and your body needs a certain balance of water and sodium electrolytes. More isn’t always better, but you do need a balance.

DripDrop ORS uses a patented and unique formula that combines medically relevant sodium electrolyte levels and the right amount of glucose in a low osmolarity formula.

What is the “ORS” Attached to DripDrop?

Oral Rehydration Therapy (ORT) was introduced to the world in the 1970s. The World Health Organization and UNICEF used it to save millions of children facing death for diarrhea-induced dehydration in poverty. Drip Drop was first created for relief efforts.

Oral rehydration solutions (ORS) are a simple and proven technology that saves time and resources. ORS has helped to reduce diarrhea-related deaths in the last decade by 54%. That’s about 2 million lives per year!

About ORT:

ORT uses 3 ingredients: sugar, salt, and water, to treat dehydration quickly. The body uses salt and sugar to pull water from your gut to the bloodstream; This causes you to replenish essential electrolytes when you are exposed to extreme temperatures.

Under certain circumstances, oral rehydration therapy is safer and more efficacious than IV therapy

The current research shows when equal volumes of the same concentration of fluid are used for rehydration intravenously or orally, there is no advantage of IV rehydration. This means that an oral rehydration protocol is usually easier and just as effective.

So what makes DripDrop Different?

Unlike other hydration brands, DripDrop uses osmosis. All fluids are absorbed that way. DripDrop’s has an osmolarity level of 235 which makes it easy to rehydrate quickly.

My experience with DripDrop:

I was thinking: what can be different about another hydration product, but DripDrop does exactly what it says it will and fast. They come in easy to use sticks.

Living in the desert, I need hydration quickly. Despite using many electrolyte products, it feels like many don’t work as fast as I would like. It really never feels like I am hydrated enough. So, of course, I was skeptical with DripDrop too.

I’ve started using DripDrop midrun, and I can tell you it works faster than any other hydration product I’ve used. I actually feel the energy, and I feel it working. It now has become my favorite hydration product for during runs and workouts. It works quickly and I feel better when I drink DripDrop over any other hydration product.

How does DripDrop Taste?

I don’t think a lot of hydration products taste good. DripDrop is definitely one of the better-tasting products, and it goes down easy. I don’t feel like I’m forcing it down, and it doesn’t have any weird aftertaste.

My favorite flavors are fruit punch and cherry. Honestly, all of the flavors have been good and I actually enjoy them all. This isn’t really something I can say about a lot of hydration products. Often it feels like I’m forcing hydration.

Different Flavor Options:

DripDrop is available in both hot and cold flavors. This is interesting as there aren’t a lot of hydration products that are meant to consume hot. Even in colder weather, you do get dehydrated.

Cold Flavors:

  • lemon
  • berry
  • watermelon
  • orange
  • Concord grape
  • strawberry lemonade
  • fruit punch
  • cherry

Hot Flavors:

  • honey lemon ginger
  • spiced apple cider
  • hibiscus
  • green apple tea
