I was excited to try the ChickNLegs Compression Shorts. Last year, I wrote a ChickNLegs Space Cats Shorts Review.
Since then, ChickNLegs has come out with compression shorts. As most people know, I love compression shorts. They are my shorts of choice when running. I wear regular shorts too but given a choice; I will usually choose compression shorts. I was overjoyed when ChickNLegs introduced compression shorts.
About ChickNLegs the Brand:
ChicknLegs started with a simple mission: To build running shorts for all of the under-served distance runners. They make both male and female shorts as well as singlets too.
ChicknLegs wanted to create a running brand centered around “short shorts” and the following core beliefs:
- Running shorts are short.
- Running shorts are fun.
- Running shorts are comfortable.
- Running shorts are affordable.
About ChickNLegs Compression Shorts:
- Soft elastic waistband hugs the waist with no drawstring.
- Spandex and polyester blend provides comfort with no chafing
- 3″ inseam
My experience with ChickNLegs Compression Shorts:
I decided to go with the flamingo ChickNLegs Compression Shorts. They have several types, including flamingos, cookies, rubber ducks, and donuts. Plus, for the plain janes, they have black shorts too. I prefer darker shorts, so I decided to stay fun with flamingos.
I am 5’8 and weigh about 130 pounds. I wear anywhere between a size small and extra small in running shorts. I went with the size extra small, and it fits well. The 3″ inseam covered everything it needed to and didn’t ride up or chafe. It already won me over.
I’ve now run on hot days, cold days, rainy days, and all sorts of runs and haven’t had a single issue with them. They’ve been through the wash several times and look brand new.
The one con is there are no pockets, and it’s a lower waistband. If you are looking for a high waisted short or shorts with pockets, you won’t find them with the ChickNLegs Compression Shorts. That being said, they are functional and comfortable short.

Cost:
ChickNLegs Compression Shorts aren’t expensive and are $29.99 a pair. Honestly, compared to most running shorts these days, that’s a good deal, and they are fun!
Are ChickNLegs Compression Shorts worth it?
If you like fun shorts, ChickNLeg compression shorts are awesome. I haven’t had any issues with them, and they are a great race day short or a fun training short too. While they don’t have pockets or anything extra, they completely cover you, don’t ride up, and don’t chafe.
I hope they’ll have the space cats in spandex form soon because you know I’ll be the first one in line to buy it.
