Belvidere Diner

Recently I was at the Belvidere Diner in Belvidere, New Jersey. In New Jersey, northwest of Trenton doesn’t get a lot of attention. It’s a quiet area with lots of farmland and hiking (like the Delaware Water Gap!).

Anyway, I arrived for lunch, and it wasn’t crowded, thankfully because I was hungry!

Atmosphere: C
The Belvidere Diner has one wall completely boarded up. You would never guess it from the inside. The inside is spacious with plenty of booths, tables, and a full-length bar. There are a few big screen TVs too.

Coffee: A
The Belvidere diner had Lacas Coffee which is quite the distance from the Lacas factory. It was brewed hot and fresh, and I had plenty of refills.

Food: B
I wasn’t sure what I was in the mood for. The Belvedere Diner has all of the typical options from breakfast, to lunch, and dinner options. There were plenty of seafood and steak options.

I decided to order a beef gyro with zucchini sticks. I’ve never had zucchini sticks before, so it was a fun change.

The beef gyro was good. It was standard gyro with nothing too unique. The zucchini sticks were good. I don’t know what I was expecting, but they were basically just fried zucchini.  It wasn’t bad but next time I’ll probably get French fries instead.  It came with marinara sauce for the sticks which typical marinara sauce.

Service: A
The waitress was friendly, and the food came out quickly. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

Cost: $
For my coffee and gyro, the cost was $10.

Overall Thoughts/Would I come back?
I liked the Belvidere Diner, and if I’m in the area, I will go back. It’s a great stop on the way to the Delaware Water Gap or hiking.

Is there an area of your state that doesn’t get much attention?
Have you tried fried zucchini before?
