This post is really long overdo. I do exist outside of the blogging world and exercise and the internets…I do have a life. Somewhat.
So last weekend, I had dinner and met up with one of my really good friends (who also happens to blog) Chuck! We have this whole once a year type of thing seeing each other thing because sadly that is how the cookie crumbles. Let me tell you, it was one of the highlights of my time in Northern New York. We went to the Dinosaur BBQ (which he had been telling me to go to for ages…) so it was only fitting he was my date there. We hung out for over 6 hours and I’m 100% sure that were wasn’t a time in that 6 hours that we didn’t have something to catch up about. It was such a nice surprise when he texted me earlier in the week saying he would be up!
Then on Halloween in the office was a lot of fun. One of my coworkers and I dressed (in 5 minutes) as Hurricane Sandy. Was it too soon? Maybe…but we were informing people of all the damage that had been done from the Hurricane. No major damage around me in NY state but there was some serious damage and people often forget the world doesn’t revolve around them.
I also thought it was a grand ole idea to post with our pumpkin piñata and be a pumpkin face. Don’t ask what that means…because I don’t really know. It seemed like a good idea at the time.
So yes, that is a nut shell where my life has been recently. Hanging out with friends and having a happy Halloween. I’ve been trying to be better at doing personal and life posts so here we go! 😉
For the last month or so that I’m in Northern NY, I FULLY plan on visiting and seeing as many people as possible. So if you anywhere within a couple hours of me…send me an email (lolzthatswim@gmail.com).
Questions for you:
1. What have you been up too this week?
2. Any close friends that you could chat for hours with?
aw I think I’m heading to NY next month!!
Anyway, sounds like a great friend and much needed catching up. I love that, it’s absolutely priceless! I shall be checking out his blog!
glad you had a great halloween 😀
What part of NY?
Love that you get to dress up for Halloween at your office… So fun! Hurricane sandy was a good one, I don’t think it’s too soon at all.
And if you ever are in the Baltimore area… Let me know 🙂
Haha pumpkin face! Love friends like that, I have moved a lot in the last few years so lots od my friends are like that.
Aw, man–I LOVE Dinosaur BBQ! To put things into perspective, they catered my high school graduation party; that’s how obsessed I am. Chicken, pulled pork … and their cornbread?! Oh so delicious. 🙂
Such a win. 😉
I love it when you can meet a friend that you haven’t seen in a while and talk for hours – that’s a good friendship right there. And that’s actually what I’m hoping to do this weekend… I’m pretty good at keeping in touch with friends through texts/e-mails, but I definitely need to start seeing them more often, so I have a few coffee chats lined up this weekend that I’m looking forward to 😀
So fun! I love catch-ups where you end up talking for hours. I think your Halloween get-up was a good idea especially since you were being informative/spreading the word about the damage. Have an awesome weekend!
It’s so good to hear about your life outside of running & coffee ((don’t get me wrong, i do love hearing your everyday thoughts)).
I’m happy that you and Chuck were able to catch up. Isn’t it amazing to have friends that no matter the distance or time apart, it’s still so easy to start off exactly where you left it?
It’s fun to hear about your every day life! I love having those friends that no matter the distance you make an effort to see each other and nothing changes between you!
haha man sounds like a blast up in your neighborhood, I need that kind of catch up with people. I am dying to get back home for a short break to see some familiar faces. glad you are having a blast. wish we were closer, like a lot
AMEN and well AMEN!
awwww I want to catch up with you and Chuck…why do you guys have to live so far away?!
I hope no one swung a bat at you while wearing your pumpkin head?! 🙂
Have a wonderful weekend girl!!!
xoxo!
One of my best friends lives about an hour away from me and we always talk for hourrrss when we meet up. I love your costume, very clever 😉
I love meeting up with old friends and it’s just like you never left. LOVE the pumpkin costume. Genius hehe.
I’m in southern NY… where abouts are you??? My old friends from childhood are all over the place and we kinda lost touch– sad lol but my BFF lives up the street from me and I hardly ever see her so we text everyday lol so I guess that counts 🙂 love your costume :p
I am interning in Oswego NY. (about 4ish hours from the city!) 🙂
oo nicee! I have family up that way lol I’m 30 mins from the city actually lol
I’m only a few short hours away.
By plane.
Migrate south for the winter so we can visit, lol. I actually like your costume idea and think it’s funny, of course it wouldn’t be if you were in the area where it hit, but it’s cool and unique. Glad you went out to eat with your friend and caught up with him, and I still really love your bangs!
This once a year catching up things needs to stop! But its even better when we get to meet up- there are few people I could just talk like that for hours with. You’ll have to come see me in Florida soon, deal? And if you hurry, my apartment will actually be clean!
And I totally had Dinosaur BBQ sauce tonight ; )
So awesome that you got to meet up with Chuck! I have really heard amazing things about Dinosaur BBQ…from like all sorts of different people…
I’m glad you enjoyed Halloween! It’s so easy to get caught up in life, work, and our worries and forget how important friends are to us. We all need to take some time to strengthen the relationships we have in life!
