361 Miro Nude ST Shoe Review

361 Miro Nude ST Shoe Review

The 361 Miro Nude ST is the more training-friendly sibling to the 361 Miro Nude 2. The Miro Nude 2 is the ultralight racing shoe that weighs almost nothing and feels built for fast road racing. The Miro Nude ST takes some of that DNA and makes it more usable for workouts, uptempo runs, and faster daily miles.

The Miro Nude ST has a lower price, more practical build, and a ride that feels like it has more training range. At $160, it is also priced more like a modern performance trainer than a $220 to $300 race shoe.

361 Miro Nude ST FAQ:

Is the 361 Miro Nude ST a racing shoe?

The 361 Miro Nude ST can race, but it is better described as a lightweight performance trainer. It is built for workouts, progression runs, tempo efforts, strides, and faster daily mileage. The 361 Miro Nude 2 is the more aggressive race-day shoe.

Is the 361 Miro Nude ST good for daily training?

Yes, with limits. The 361 Miro Nude ST is better for faster daily miles than slow recovery runs. If you want a shoe for easy runs, long runs, and regular mileage, something like the Hoka Skyward X 2 or a standard daily trainer from my Shoe and Gear Reviews list would be better.

Now, let’s get into an honest 361 Miro Nude ST shoe review.

361 Miro Nude ST Upper and Fit

The 361 Miro Nude ST uses an engineered upper with a stripped-back design. It is still light, although it has more structure than the Miro Nude 2. That is a good thing for training because most of us are not looking for a training shoe that isn’t durable.

The fit is performance-oriented. Expect a secure midfoot, moderate volume, and enough hold for faster workouts. I would not expect a plush trainer fit, and I would not expect a ton of room in the toe box. The Miro Nude ST is still coming from a race-shoe family.

The upper should work best in warmer weather and faster efforts. It is breathable, minimal, and less padded than a typical daily trainer. That helps the weight, although it may not be the shoe I would choose for cold rain or long winter mileage.

As far as fit, in running shoes I wear between a womens size 10-11 wiode (or unisex 9.5). The unisex 9.5 fits well. 361 actually runs a bit bigger than true to size so some may find they have a lot of room in the forefoot…for me it’s not enough to change sizes.

361 Miro Nude ST Ride

The ride is where the 361 Miro Nude ST is not as extreme as the Miro Nude 2, but it is still light and responsive.

The 33 mm / 27 mm stack gives enough cushioning for workouts without feeling tall or bulky. The 6 mm drop keeps the shoe feeling quick through transition. I would expect the ride to feel more connected to the ground than most super trainers, which is good if you like quick turnover and bad if you want a giant slab of foam underneath you.

The Miro Nude ST feels like a shoe for the runs where easy pace turns into steady pace. It doesn’t feel like a true “easy run or recovery run shoe,” but it’s been great for some faster easy days.

The QU!KBONE setup adds structure through transition without turning this into a full race-day carbon shoe. It has a midfoot shank instead of a full plate, which helps make the  Miro Nude ST more training-friendly..

For workouts, I would use the 361 Miro Nude ST for tempo runs, fartleks, strides, progression runs, and intervals. For long runs, it depends on how you run them. If your long runs have marathon pace or steady work, it could fit. If your long runs are easy aerobic mileage, I would choose something more protective.

361 Miro Nude ST Outsole

The outsole is more substantial than the Miro Nude 2, which is exactly what a training version needs. The Miro Nude 2 saves weight by using minimal outsole coverage, but that also makes it a shoe I would save for races and key workouts.

The Miro Nude ST gives you more day-to-day usefulness. Outside also found traction to be better than the adidas Adizero EVO SL, which is an important comparison because the EVO SL is one of the more obvious shoes in this category.

I still would not use the Miro Nude ST as a high-mileage daily trainer on rough roads every day. It is light, and light shoes usually come with tradeoffs. But compared to the Miro Nude 2, this is the better choice if you want more mileage from the shoe.

Where the 361 Miro Nude ST Fits in a Rotation

The 361 Miro Nude ST fits as a workout shoe or faster daily trainer. It is not the shoe for plodding recovery runs, and it is not the top race-day option from 361.

A rotation could look like this: a daily trainer for regular mileage, the Miro Nude ST for workouts and uptempo days, and the 361 Miro Nude 2 for race day. If you like 361 but want something more aggressive for racing, the Miro Nude 2 is the faster option. If you want something with more training range inside the brand, the Miro Nude ST is the better fit.

You could also compare it to the 361 Furious Future 2.0, although the Miro Nude ST is lighter and more stripped down.

361 Miro Nude ST vs 361 Miro Nude 2

The Miro Nude 2 is the race shoe. The Miro Nude ST is the trainer version.

The Miro Nude 2 has a 33 mm / 26 mm stack, a 7 mm drop, CQT EXTREME dual-layer TPEE foam, a hollow carbon-fiber QUIKBONE plate, and strategic RPU outsole zones. It is built for race day and fast work.

The Miro Nude ST is $60 cheaper, has a 33 mm / 27 mm stack, a 6 mm drop, a more substantial build, and more training range. It gives up some race-day sharpness, but it should be easier to use more often.

If you race 5Ks and 10Ks often, get the Miro Nude 2. If you want a lightweight shoe for workouts and faster runs, get the Miro Nude ST.

Closest Competitors

361 Miro Nude ST versus adidas Adizero EVO SL…Both are lightweight, fast-feeling training shoes with race-shoe influence. The Miro Nude ST is also in the same conversation as the New Balance Rebel, Puma Deviate Nitro, ASICS Magic Speed, and Saucony Endorphin Speed type of category, depending on what ride you prefer.

The Miro Nude ST stands out because of weight and price. At $160, it is less expensive than many performance trainers, and it is much lighter than almost all of them.

361 Miro Nude ST Conclusion

The 361 Miro Nude ST might be the more useful shoe for most runners than the Miro Nude 2. It is light, quick, and built for faster running without feeling like a shoe you need to save only for race day. I would use it for tempo runs, progression runs, intervals, and the kind of faster daily miles where a normal trainer feels like too much shoe.
