The Reebok FloatZig 2 is the latest version in Reebok’s performance running lineup, designed to offer a springy and stable ride for runners of all levels. Building upon the foundation of its predecessor, the FloatZig 1, the updated version includes enhanced cushioning and a re-engineered midsole to deliver a more responsive and comfortable running experience. I was a big fan of the Reebok FloatZig 1, so I was curious (and nervous!) to see how the second version stacked up.
I was, however, a bit cautious when I saw the Reebok FloatZig 2. It looks almost like a 90s casual shoe? Certainly I am not alone in thinking this. I strongly believe Reebok is underrated, though, so of course I gave them a chance and of course, they are one of my favorite daily trainers. Reebok, you’ve done it again.
Before trying the Reebok FloatZig 2, I had a few questions:
- Does the Reebok FloatZig 2 fit true to size? Yes, I think so. It’s been a comfortable fit.
- What is the Reebok FloatZig 2 made for? Daily training. It’s going to handle the bulk of your mileage.
- Is the Reebok FloatZig 2 bulky? No, but it does look that way. At just over 10 ounces, it’s on the heavier side of daily trainers but nothing crazy.
Now, let’s get into an honest review of the Reebok FloatZig 2.
Quick Facts
Weight: 10.2 oz

Ideal Use: Daily training, easy miles
Reebok FloatZig 2 Fit
The FloatZig 2 features an engineered mesh upper that provides a breathable, sock-like fit. A gusseted tongue offers midfoot support, while the improved comfort collar in the heel enhances overall fit and reduces irritation during extended runs. The shoe maintains a standard width but incorporates a wider midfoot geometry for added stability.
The best running shoe uppers disappear off your feet, and for the most part, I’ve had that experience with the Reebok FloatZig 2. When I put it on, it felt comfortable and breathable, and I’ve had no big issues since. I’ve really enjoyed the fit of Reebok running shoes. I think the last is slightly wider, and they’ve overall always been comfortable to me.
As far as fit, in running shoes I wear between a women’s 10–11 wide, and I’ve found the size 10.5 to fit best. It runs pretty true to size, although slightly long. I don’t think it’s long enough to really adjust sizes, but something to take note of.
Reebok FloatZig 2 Ride
A standout feature of the FloatZig 2 is its SuperFloat+ foam, a nitrogen-injected supercritical foam that provides superior energy return and cushioning compared to its predecessor. This technology ensures a bouncy and responsive ride, ideal for both short sprints and long-distance runs. The re-engineered Zig Tech midsole design offers improved stability and facilitates smoother transitions during runs.
Where does the Reebok FloatZig 2 fit into my rotation? The first version was a daily run/easy run shoe, and the second version is the same. I’ve found it awesome to handle daily mileage or when I’m feeling a bit beat up. I’ve taken it out for some faster runs too, and you’re easily able to pick up the pace with no major issues.
Outsole
The outsole features a re-engineered Zig Tech design, offering improved stability and facilitating smoother transitions during runs. The carbon rubber provides reliable traction on various surfaces. I’ve used mine on desert trails with no issues of sliding around. It’s one of my favorite easy run shoes, and I’ve found it to be able to handle most terrain. That being said, I’m not using it for crazy trail running.
As far as durability, I have yet to have a Reebok running shoe that doesn’t last the full 400 miles, and the Reebok FloatZig 2 appears to be no different. I’ve now put about 100 miles on mine, and they are showing no signs of slowing down.

Reebok FloatZig 2 Conclusion
I appreciate the Reebok FloatZig update. It’s not the biggest and most drastic update, but it is enough to make the shoe better than ever. Plus, as someone who liked and appreciated the previous version, I’m glad to see it shares some semblance of version 1. Its blend of cushioning, stability, and comfort makes it a versatile option for runners of all levels.
