Styrkr Review

I was super curious about the brand Styrkr. Most people know that I’ve been on the hunt to find the best fuels that work for me. There are countless energy mixes, electrolyte tablets, and fuel drinks on the market.

Before trying Styrkr, I had a few questions:

What makes Styrkr different? They offer a range of high-quality products designed to support cycling and other endurance athletes.

How do you pronounce Styrkr? [stir-kuh], which, according to their website, means “strength” in Old Norse.

Products I Tried:

Styrkr MIX60 & MIX90 Dual-Carb Energy Drink Mix

  • MIX60: $2.99
  • MIX90: $3.49

Styrkr’s MIX60 and MIX90 Dual-Carb Energy Drink Mixes provide adaptable fueling solutions for activities of different intensities and durations. Available in two carbohydrate levels: MIX60 and MIX90. These mixes dissolve smoothly and have a creamy sugar flavor, reminiscent of a classic “Fun Dip” taste. The energy mix is quickly absorbed, providing 60g or 90g of carbohydrates to keep you going on rides of varying lengths.

What makes Styrkr MIX60 & MIX90 Dual-Carb Energy Drink Mix different?

  • Carb Content: MIX60 offers 60g of carbohydrates, ideal for 1-2 hour rides, while MIX90 provides 90g for 3+ hour workouts.
  • Dual-Carb Formula: The maltodextrin and fructose blend ensures a steady, gut-friendly release of energy.
  • Great for Longer Rides: Its light flavor profile and rapid absorption make it a solid choice for high-endurance days.
  • They also provide the options in a caffeine version as well.

My experience with Styrkr MIX60 & MIX90 Dual-Carb Energy Drink Mix

I was excited to try each and determine which worked the best for me. Admittedly, I was hoping the MIX90 Dual-Carb Energy Drink Mix worked better because I’ve really tried to focus on upping my carbohydrates.

Immediately, I noticed how sticky the Styrkr MIX60 & MIX90 Dual-Carb Energy Drink Mix both are. I did spill some, and I wasn’t totally thrilled to have my entire shirt completely sticky, but it was what it was.

Do the Styrkr MIX60 & MIX90 Dual-Carb Energy Drink Mix work? Yes, I found I had a good amount of energy while using each, and my stomach was able to handle the Mix90 without any issues. While the flavor isn’t my favorite (I am seriously tired of all the sweet gel flavors; I just want something different), I will say both the Mix60 and Mix90 work well.

Styrkr GEL30 and GEL50

  • Gel30: $3.49
  • Gel50: $3.99

It’s super interesting that the GEL50 is only 50 cents more than the GEL30.

The GEL30 offers 30g of carbohydrates in a small, convenient sachet, ideal for mid-session energy boosts, whereas the GEL50 has 50g of carbohydrates. Thank you to brands that make their contents easy to understand. This gel also includes L-Arginine and L-Citrulline, which boost nitric oxide levels, supporting better blood flow and performance. There are also caffeine options, which I believe just taste like consuming straight caffeine. They are flavorless, but man, they just taste like chemicals to me.

What makes the Styrkr GEL30 and GEL50 different?

  • Nitric Oxide Boost: Supports enhanced blood flow to muscles.
  • Stomach-Friendly: Unflavored but with a subtle red berry taste.
  • Active Ingredients: Includes L-glutamine for fatigue reduction.

My experience with the Styrkr GEL30 and GEL50

In short, the gels do work. I usually take the GEL50 over the course of 1-2 miles, whereas the GEL30, I can get down in 1 mile or so. I’ve moved away from trying to consume the gels as quickly as possible. They come in a variety of flavors, and the berry is my favorite. The first time I consumed the citrus, I was just a bit shocked by the flavor—I don’t know why, but it wasn’t what I was expecting. I really enjoy the berry much more. The Styrkr GEL30 and GEL50 have become one of my favorite gels already, and I haven’t had any stomach issues. I will likely stick to the berry just because I am tired of all the sweet gels.

Styrkr SLT05 Rehydration Powder

  • $2.49 for a single serving

The SLT05 Rehydration Powder is a fast-acting, easily absorbable hydration powder that mimics the body’s electrolyte balance. Formulated with key electrolytes like sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium, SLT05 prevents muscle cramping and enhances hydration.

What makes the SLT05 Rehydration Powder different?

  • Quad-Blend Electrolytes: Closely replicates human sweat for better rehydration.
  • Single-Serving Convenience: Each sachet is easy to pack and use.
  • Free from Sugars & Allergens: Vegan-friendly and gentle on the stomach.

Usage: Mix one sachet with 500ml of water to prepare for or rehydrate after vigorous activity, especially helpful in hot conditions.

My experience with the SLT05 Rehydration Powder

Living in the Mojave Desert, it’s warm for a lot of the year, and I am always looking for electrolyte powders that can actually help—not ones that say they will. The SLT05 Rehydration Powder really works, and it tastes good. You can mix it into your regular hydration drink or endurance fuel for extra electrolytes, which is what I most often do.

Cost

Compared to many other endurance fuels, Styrkr is very expensive and one of the most expensive. Compared to brands that are doing similar things like Maurten, it is about the same.

Styrkr Conclusion

Styrkr’s range of products offers targeted, high-quality fueling options for endurance athletes. While each item is effective, the flavor might not be every athlete’s first choice. Styrkr’s commitment to minimal additives, high-performance ingredients, and user-friendly packaging make it a solid choice for cyclists and endurance athletes alike. I definitely want to try the rice bars.

Who should purchase Styrkr?

  • Those looking for endurance fuel to help them run or cycle their best.

Who should not purchase Styrkr?

  • If you aren’t a fan of thicker or sweeter endurance fuel options, there are not a ton of flavor choices.
  • Cost will also inhibit some.
