Lake Side Diner (Forked River)
Recently my friend Cyd, and owner of NJ isn’t Boring, and I met up for another diner trip. She’s been to more than me (268). We’ve been to somewhere between 20-30 together over the last few years.
Lake Side Diner Atmosphere: A
The Lake Side Diner is a cute shore diner. I believe it’s gone through a name change recently as there are remnants of the old “Colonial Diner” name. It’s a little white house, and the inside is almost entirely wooden. It’s got such a fun and unique vibe.
Lake Side Diner Coffee: B
The coffee at the Lake Side Diner was good, but there was nothing to write home about. The waitress refilled it often, which was nice.
Lake Side Diner Food: B
The Lake Side Diner menu has plenty of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. While it was around 11, I wasn’t craving lunch yet. I was craving pancakes and eggs, so I ordered that and substituted the meat (bacon/sausage) for fruit.
The meal was good, but it was kind of bland. It wasn’t bad, but it felt like something I could whip up at home. I asked for pancakes with whipped cream but the waitress forgot, so she came back and added it.
Lake Side Diner Service: A
The waitress was friendly and refilled our beverages often. Plus our food came out quickly so I can’t argue with that.
Cost: $$
For my breakfast and coffee, it was $16.
Overall Thoughts/Summary of the Lake Side Diner:
The Lake Side Diner is a cute stop if you’re going down the shore. I would go back.
