Ah yes my last training week. It was a powerhouse training week, no road races and very high mileage as well as speed work. Enough to make me tired 100% of the time. Okay 99.9% because there was that time I had coffee and felt good for a minute or two. I also was able to dig up some more race photos…because it makes blogging more fun…

I kid-it was a very productive training week with the high temperatures and the busyness of my life. I’ll talk about the rest of my life in another blog but I’ll just ramble away at my training this week.
I was going to race this weekend, but decided not too again. Good thing I didn’t sign up either because I found out my pool inspection was that morning. (And it passed!).
Running:
Uptempo 11 miler at 6:52 pace. It felt easy and effortless. I ran on trails. I honestly am so proud of this run. This was on trails, uneven terrain and it just felt easy.
3X1 mile speed workout
2.5 miles coaching
25 miles recovery (between 8:30-9:00 minute pace)
15.5 mile long run. I literally lost 8 pounds of water during this run. I’ll be 100% honest and say I don’t really have abs (or really care) but I could not believe how much I sweat out. Keep in mind this is also right after I had drank 64 ounces of water. Aren’t dehydrated fake abs fun? Okay anyways.
23 easy or untimed miles.
Swimming:
5800 meters
1 open mile RACE! (I’m probably doing that right now if you are reading this between 10:00am-11:00am on Sunday! If I don’t blog tomorrow…I drown…)
Miscellaneous:
3 p90x sessions
This was a perfect training week for me. I got exactly everything I needed to get done, done. It sucked sometimes…it felt amazing other times…but I peaked and hit everything I needed too…even in the heat.
Next week I have on tap:
Some swimming. (Who knows how much?)
Hopefully between 70-80 miles again of running
I am also racing another cross country 5k on Saturday. I am trying to get in as many cross country trail races as possible. More then road races…sadly.
Question for you:
1. Have you ever been severely dehydrated? Not during this run, but I have passed out before due to blood sugar imbalance and dehydration.
2. How were your workouts this week? Are you racing anytime soon (BRAG!)?
Great job!!!
Girl look at that body. Hollie works out.
You seriously should help me with a training plan for running.
Wow I agree you look amazing! I also love your old pics, you look so different!
Also gosh you do so much, makes me tired reading it? Be careful, my friend was doing that much too and got stress fractures. Hope you have a great training week. I love xc but so far my season hasn’t been good, I’ve had 4 wks off so just getting back into it, arghhh annoying, but oh well. Good luck in ur xc race! 🙂
Thanks. I had a stress fracture last summer. I didn’t really have a great season either because of it so I can understand that.
wow what a high mileage week especially in this heat. runs like that make me chug water alllll day.
my runs weren’t that great this week – I’m not used to the heat and it really slowed my pace down 🙁
great mileage!
Girl you are cray and I want to be you. Seriously you are killing it! I don’t think I’ve ever been that dehydrated from running. Actually I’m sure I have, I just didn’t know it. I’ve passed out before from dehydration but it was before I started running!
It is so funny reading your blog from the other side of the world. It is freezing here in NZ! I miss runs in the sun where the sweat dries on your skin all flaky and white.
I hate running with water, it is a pain. Where I live, there is a good route along the bays with a few water stops along the way. It is annoying stopping on a run, but if they are LSD runs I don’t think it matters too much?
You are a power house. Seriously. Love the fake dehydrated abs! I will get there some day!!
Oh damn girl You’re looking good! I start Insanity again this week so hopefully I’ll be as badass looking as you one day.
I was massively dehydrated about a month and a half ago. It was a result of a series of poor judgment calls – ended up in the bathroom of a restaurant half passed out, with chills, and dry heaving. Not my favorite dinner. I won’t make those mistakes again for a good long time – if ever!
Wow, I cannot even imagine. Being dehyrated is seriously one of the scariest things in the world. You feel so helpless.
My runs were good this week but of course nothing near your paces, lol (as to be expected).
I have been severely dehydrated before, unfortunately, when I had my wisdom tooth pulled and I didn’t drink for hours and hadn’t really drunk anything much before. I was feeling pretty bad to the point where I didn’t think to look at my abs or take a picture or anything, but I got some of that electrolyte enhanced chocolate milk in my body just in time.
Love the race pics, good luck in your cross country 5k.
nice abs! even if they’re fake. probably better to be hydrated than have “abs” though. I’ve had a few fun dehydration experiences, one during a half marathon about three years ago – it was unexpectedly hot and humid, like 90 degrees in November, and I totally wasn’t prepared for that. Didn’t help that the first thing I drank afterward was the free beer at the end. lol. Anyway, this is a killer training week! hopefully you didn’t drown so that you can recap us on that swim race 😀
Wait- you ran how far? A 23 and a 25 mile recovery runs??
wow! 8 pounds of water loss is intense! the only times I ever dehydrated were when I got food poisoning 🙁 terrible
