Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray Review

Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray caught my eye in my quest to find the best sunscreen for runners as well as the best sunscreen for swimmers. As someone who does both sports, and living in the Mojave Desert, I’m on the quest to find the best sunscreens for athletes.

Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray Review

I’m no stranger to Supergoop and have tried the:

Anyway, back to the Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray review. The Supergoop Antioxidant-Infused Sunscreen Mist sounded promising. A clean SPF with reef-safe claims, easy spray application, and water resistance? As someone who spends a lot of time outside running, hiking, and swimming, I was excited to try this product.

Before trying the Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray I had a few questions:

  • Is Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray good for running? Yes, so far it’s passed all of the runs I’ve done in the Mojave Desert with no issues. My biggest concern is that it only lasts for 80 minutes so for longer runs you need something else. Although doing super long runs in the Mojave Desert summer is not my favorite anyway.
  • Is the Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray good for swimmers? Yes, just like running it’s past all of my tests for swimming. The same concern applies that if you are swimming or out in the sun for long periods of time, you will need to reapply.
  • Is the Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray greasy? Yes, it comes out pretty greasy and it was concerning to me at first, but after a few minutes it does dry and you don’t even notice it’s there.
  • Is there a discount for Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray? If you buy on Amazon, you can get 10% off.

Is it still worth considering if you’re searching for the best sunscreen for runners or the best sunscreen for swimmers? Let’s get into an honest review of the Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray.

About the Brand Supergoop

Supergoop has built a strong reputation by creating sun protection products that go beyond the greasy, white-cast formulas of the past. Their goal has always been to make SPF something people want to wear every day. Whether it’s their favorite Unseen Sunscreen or their glow-boosting Glowscreen, they’ve earned a loyal following by focusing on clean ingredients, innovative formats, and skincare-meets-sunscreen vibes.

They’ve also made it clear they care about more than just your skin. From reducing packaging waste to advocating for sunscreen in schools through their Ounce By Ounce program, Supergoop is a brand with a mission.

About the Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist

With an SPF 50, this mist is designed to be a quick and convenient way to protect your body from sun exposure, especially during workouts or beach days. It uses a “bag-on-valve” system instead of a traditional aerosol, which allows for spraying from any angle and a more even application. Supergoop claims it works on both wet and dry skin and is ideal for reapplying during long, sweaty days outdoors.

It’s packed with essential oils and plant-based antioxidants like green tea and grape seed, which sounds great to me.

My Experience with Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray

I bought the Antioxidant Body Mist Spray on our road trip in April. I had just run out of sunscreen and we were spending a lot of time outdoors, so having nothing was not an option. I wanted to try the Antioxidant Body Mist Spray and it felt like the right time. So I bought it at Ulta (ironic because I almost never shop at Ulta because it’s so far from me at home… I digress).

I first tried it for a run, and I appreciated how easy the can was to dispense. It came out FAST and with plenty. When the Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray first comes out, it is a lot thicker and more greasy than I was used to. I was honestly a bit surprised and wasn’t a huge fan. But then it dried and I didn’t even notice it was there. It doesn’t really take long to dry (maybe a couple of minutes). BUT, as someone who always feels like they are perpetually late, I want everything fast acting LOL.

When I sweat while running, it didn’t come off. So the Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray passed the running test.

But is Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray good for swimming? Swimming outdoors when the weather is nice is one of my favorite activities. BUT, I know it can be bad for the skin (between the chlorine and the actual sun). I applied the Antioxidant Body Mist Spray right before I went swimming and it did stay on with no issues (I waited for it to dry, of course). If I stayed in more than 80 minutes, I got out and reapplied. In all, the Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray is one of the better sunscreens I’ve tried for swimming too.

I’ve heard some people aren’t a fan of the smell because they’ve said it smells like bug spray, but I didn’t get that. It smells fine to me.

So far, I’m a fan of the Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray and I haven’t really had any issues. My biggest complaint is how thick it comes on at first, but then it does blend into the skin.

Price

At about $24 for 6 ounces, it’s not the most expensive sunscreen out there, but it’s also not cheap. You can buy the Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray on Amazon (plus get 10% off).

Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray Conclusion

The Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist Spray isn’t perfect, but it does what it’s supposed to do and it does it well enough for me to keep using it. It held up through runs and swims, which is more than I can say for most sunscreens I’ve tried. In fact, I’m already almost out.

While the initial spray feels thick and greasy, it dries down quickly and doesn’t leave much residue. The scent may be strong for some, but I didn’t mind it. If you’re looking for a solid, reef-safe sunscreen that holds up during activity, this one is worth checking out…especially for runners and swimmers who are out in the sun.

Who Should Buy the Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist

  • People who want a reef-safe sunscreen with a strong citrus scent

  • Casual beachgoers who don’t mind a bit of oiliness

  • Those looking for a body mist that sprays evenly without propellants

Who Should Not Buy the Supergoop Antioxidant Body Mist

  • Anyone sensitive to fragrance or essential oils

  • People who dislike the feel of thicker sunscreen upon application

  • Those seeking a budget-friendly sunscreen. There are cheaper options out there.

  • Those doing long runs or workouts. With just 80 minutes until you need to reapply, that can get tedious.
