Funny enough, Fresh N Lean was shut down by lenders so it’s no longer in operation. Talk about poor timing.
I was so curious about the Fresh N Lean Meal Delivery service. Ready-to-eat meal delivery services have surged in popularity, offering convenience and nutrition to busy consumers. As someone who works in the office full time and hates cooking, I’m always looking for easy and healthy lunches and dinners. Fresh N Lean is one such service that promises high-quality, organic meals tailored to various dietary needs. In this review, I’ll share what sets Fresh N Lean apart, my personal experience, cost considerations, and who might benefit most from this service.
Before trying Fresh N Lean, I had a few questions:
- What makes Fresh N Lean different?
- Do you need to cook Fresh N Lean meals? No, everything comes precooked and all you need to do is pop it into the oven and go.
- Is the Fresh N Lean meal delivery worth it? To be honest, I don’t know. It’s not terrible, and the meals are edible, but none of the meals excite me, flavor-wise, and I’ve found cheaper and more delicious options.
About the brand Fresh N Lean
Fresh N Lean was founded in 2010 and is based in Anaheim, California. I always get excited with local brands. The company specializes in prepared, ready-to-eat meals that are single-serving, gluten-free, and made with organic produce, grass-fed beef, free-range poultry, and sustainable seafood.
What Makes Fresh N Lean Different?
- Quality Ingredients: Emphasis on organic produce, grass-fed beef, free-range poultry, and sustainable seafood.
- Dietary Variety: Offers seven distinct meal plans, including Protein+, Keto, Paleo, Vegan, Vegetarian, Whole30, and Mediterranean. Not only that, but they have several options for each category; it isn’t like each one is an afterthought.
- Convenience: Meals are ready-to-eat and can be stored in the fridge or frozen for later use. Sustainability: Eco-friendly packaging made from recyclable materials. I also appreciate that the Fresh N Lean meal delivery box isn’t huge. Why do so many meal delivery kits come in these huge, unnecessary boxes?
My Experience with Fresh N Lean
I tried several options. Some meals tasted better than others. To be honest, my biggest drawback from the Fresh N Lean meals is the taste. I found they weren’t as delicious as many other (cheaper) meal delivery services. Why am I going to pay more for meals that don’t taste as good?
Most of the meals are between 350-700 calories. As a runner, a single meal might not be enough, and there were several times I still felt hungry after eating. Granted, I don’t need to feel completely full, but some meals I did feel were more of a snack.
Pasta with shrimp: This was one of my more favorite meal delivery services. I had it before a workout, and it provided enough energy.
Garlic Herb Filet Mignon with truffle cauliflower: This was one of my favorite meals. I thought it tasted good and it was a nice meal that kept me full.
Cabbage and Beef Stew: I’m not a huge cabbage fan, but this one tasted decently. The cabbage felt a little soggy to me and I wasn’t sure if that was due to the cooking or the transportation. I would eat it again and in a pinch but probably wouldn’t order it.
In conclusion, the meal options were just “fine.” They were not amazing, and I would eat them if I was in a pinch, but it’s hard for me to justify paying the prices for them when there are cheaper and more delicious meal delivery services out there.
Cost
Meals start at $9.99 each, with the final cost depending on the meal plan and number of meals per week. There’s an $85 minimum order requirement per week, and shipping costs $9.99 or is free for orders over $100 in the contiguous U.S. states. Like almost anything, it’s cheaper the more meals you order. It is competitive with other meal delivery services, but for portion size, taste, and flavor for cost, I would say it falls behind.
Fresh N Lean Conclusion
They offer quality and convenience, particularly for those following specific dietary patterns. While the ingredients are fresh and the service is easy to use, the taste may not satisfy everyone. For those without strict dietary needs, other meal delivery services might provide a more enjoyable experience.
Who Should Try Fresh N Lean?
Unfortunately, for now, the brand has been shut down by lenders.
- Diet-Conscious Individuals: Those following specific diets like keto, paleo, vegan, or Whole30 will benefit from the tailored meal plans.
- Busy Professionals: Single servings make it ideal for individuals looking for quick, healthy meals.
- Eco-Conscious Consumers: The sustainable packaging and high-quality ingredients appeal to those prioritizing environmental and health standards.
Who Should Stay Away from Fresh N Lean?
- Families: The single-serving meals are not designed for family dining.
- Budget-Conscious Consumers: The cost may be prohibitive for those on a tight budget.
- Taste-Sensitive Individuals: Those who prioritize flavor might find other services more to their liking. For me, the flavors just didn’t really excite me for the price I am paying.
