RipTie Tangle Free Hair Tie Review

I saw the RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties on Instagram and decided to buy them. Seriously, is half of my purchasing from Facebook and Instagram ads? Probably at this point. I didn’t see a ton of RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties reviews, so I was curious if they worked. In this RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties review, I’ll answer my own burning question: Do the RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties actually work?

About the brand:

RipTie Hair started in 2021 thanks to Sarah, who loves surfing and SCUBA diving a lot. Sarah has always loved the sea. She lived in Hawaii where she first caught waves on a surfboard, and in Guam, she helped at a big dive shop. Now, she’s in Ocean Beach, San Diego, living with her dog and fiancé.

When things were tough during the pandemic, Sarah got to surf every single day. But, she didn’t like how much time it took to untangle her hair after being in the water. That’s when she thought up the RipTie. In 2020, she tried out different kinds of stretchy bands until she found the perfect one that kept hair neat while catching waves, and that’s how RipTie Hair was founded.

About RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties:

The RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties are designed for those who love being outdoors, but their hair can be a mess. Runners, surfers, bikers, scuba divers, motorcyclists, BMX riders, and anyone who deals with crazy hair after a workout. As someone living in one of the windiest areas of the world, I can definitely attest to some huge knots in my hair.

How to use the RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties:

Step One: Use the big loop to tie your hair into a ponytail. Keep the braided part out of the way. (This was the most difficult for me).

Step Two: Pull the tie so it’s snug and wrap it around your ponytail. Make sure the loops are tight enough so they won’t slip and are spaced out all along your ponytail.

Step Three: Twist the small loop around the bottom part like you’re making a braid.

If you’re in the water and your hair gets messy, just leave it. The tie keeps your hair going in one direction. If you try to fix it while it’s wet, it might get more tangled.

The RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties are about 24 inches long, which is ideal for hair that goes from your shoulders to halfway down your back. You can wrap it tighter or looser depending on how long your hair is. If your hair is longer than that, they have an extra-long tie that’s 34 inches.

My Experience with RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties:

I was really excited to try the RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties. Like, really excited. I’ve dealt with my fair share of knots while running in the desert. Since my hair is almost to my butt (man, do I need a haircut), I opted for the extra-long length. I read a few RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties reviews, and people said they wish they had gotten the longer, so I decided to buy the longer options. When the RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties arrived, I realized maybe it was too long for me.

The first time putting the RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties around my hair was messy. I couldn’t seem to get the hair tie correct, and it just felt like it was sliding around. After 2-3 tries, I nailed putting it on appropriately, and to be honest, I love them now. They are great for keeping your hair put outdoors in the wind or water. Occasionally, my hair has gotten super crazy, and even then it keeps my hair from knotting up. In all, I’m a huge fan of the RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties and will likely buy some fun colors.

Cost: $25

It’s $25 for a 3-pack, which is not cheap, but they do keep your hair in place, so I can’t complain.

RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties Conclusion:

The RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties may have started out rocky for me, but to be honest, now I love them. I use them a lot in the Mojave Desert to keep my hair from going everywhere. Next time, I’ll purchase the shorter length. I think you only really need the XL if your hair is past your butt.

Who should buy the RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties? If you are someone who finds their hair knotted or messy, consider them to keep your hair in place.

Who should not buy the RipTie Tangle Free Hair Ties? Really, the only reason I can think of is if you don’t have an issue with your hair going crazy during workouts.
