Recently I tried Avanza Skin. What caught my eyes is skincare made for athletes. Their products are designed to meet athletes’ specific needs, including sweat, acne, chafing, hair damage, and even hardened skin. It can be hard to find a skincare-related product designed to combat our specific needs as an athlete.
Avanza Skin was started as nonprofessional athletes that needed real dermatological solutions. This isn’t limited to running and biking, swimming, or any athletes. They were looking to find solutions for athletes that didn’t exist on the market.
They are a team of a dermatologist, a chemist, and a mathematician. They combine knowledge and research to design performance-based solutions.
All of the Avanza Skin products are made in California and are formulated with dermatologically proven active ingredients to ensure that they perform like the rest of our gear. Avanza Skin is also 100% minority-owned.
Avanza Skin is designed by athletes for athletes.
- Designed by dermatologists, chemists, and athletes.
- Innovative formulas to tackle athletes’ skin-related issues.
- Allow athletes to live a full life without skin or hair showing that. Our products help athletes live a full life without their skin or hair showing it.
What I tried:
a body block to fight friction $20:
The name might sound confusing, but a body block to fight friction is designed to prevent chafing. Similar to things like body glide.
What makes it different:
- No mess
- Long-lasting
- Helps with irritation, blisters, and raw skin caused by friction
- Creates a defensive layer while allowing the skin to breathe
My experience: I get a lot of thigh chafing, so I’m always looking for the best products. I’ve applied “a body block to fight friction” from Avanza Skin on several occasions, and it’s always done exactly what it should. Plus, it doesn’t irritate. I like that it’s no mess and lasts for as long as I did it. There isn’t a worry to need to apply a few hours later.
A Gel for Workout Acne ($42):
I am prone to workout acne. I wash my face every day, and sometimes even that doesn’t feel like enough. I was excited to find something from Avanza Skin to really combat workout acne. Instead of the typical creams, it uses a gel that can be used on both the face and body.
What makes it different?
- Designed for athletes
- Prevents acne and swelling, and redness
- Keeps pores open, clean, and bacteria-free
- Controls early-stage breakouts
My experience: As someone who does get a lot of workout-related acne, I was most excited about this. I applied as instructed. I wasn’t sure how I would feel about the gel, but I really like it, and I have noticed I’ve had less breakouts.
An After Workout Body Wash ($20):
This is a full-powered body wash from Avanza Skin is designed for athletes. It’s designed to remove salt residues, oils, and dead cells. Plus, get rid of contaminants that can lead to irritation and acne.
What makes it different?
- Revitalizes skin without causing irritation or dryness
- Cleans skin and keeps pores open, healthy, and clean
My experience: I’ve used this body wash from Avanza Skin after running and also after swimming. I’ve found it to remove clogged pores better than any other body wash. Plus, I don’t feel as though it’s just “masking odors.” It’s probably my favorite body wash for after swimming that I’ve found.
Avanza Skin Cost:
All of the Avanza Skin products are in line with what quality skincare costs are, and some are even cheaper. Plus, they are made for athletes, and I’ve genuinely found work better for athletics than any other products I’ve tried. Avanza Skin also has bundles and kits based on your needs to make the products even cheaper.
Avanza Skin Conclusion:
I have found Avanza Skin to be extremely useful and my favorite skincare routine for athletes. Plus, ut’s not any more expensive than quality skincare. I am excited to continue using Avanza Skin.
