Eppie’s Restaurant (West Sacramento)

Eppie's Restaurant (West Sacramento)

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a diner review, right? Recently, I ordered take-out from Eppie’s Restaurant in West Sacramento. It’s a cute diner located near the highway. I was passing through, hungry and just wanting a stop. Eppie’s Restaurant was perfect.

Eppie’s Restaurant Atmosphere: A

Eppie’s Restaurant isn’t an old-school metallic diner but an older family-owned diner. The outside is a regular building with “Eppie’s Diner” posted on it. Confusing because the name is Eppie’s Restaurant, and the name outside is Eppie’s Diner. Either way, it’s a family-owned diner.

Inside there are plenty of booths and tables. Despite not being a retro diner, it does have a nice family-owned vibe to it. When I arrived, it wasn’t too crowded, and it appeared like a regulars paradise. There were roughly 4 parties in the diner.

Eppie’s Restaurant Service: B

When I ordered my meal, the host said it would be about 20 minutes. I took my time getting there, and it took me about 30 minutes to arrive. (Not really on purpose, but Sacramento has a lot of traffic). It took another 10 minutes to get the food for a total of 40 minutes. A lot longer than I anticipated, but luckily I had the time.

Inside, everyone was appropriately masked, and there was plenty of hand sanitizer everywhere.

Eppie’s Restaurant Coffee: X

I didn’t order this coffee this time around.

Eppie’s Restaurant Food: B

The Eppie’s Restaurant menu has everything a diner usually has. From all-day breakfast like omelets, eggs, and pancakes to lunch like BLTs to several options and even seafood. You can see the full menu on their website. I decided to order my staple diner meal of a BLT and french fries. The BLT was fine but nothing fancy. The french fries were a little bland, and after dousing them in salt, they were ok. Was the meal exciting or interesting? No, but was it a decent diner meal? Yes.

Eppie’s Restaurant Cost: $

For my meal, it was $9, which wasn’t bad.

Overall Thoughts/Would I Come Back?

Eppie’s Restaurant was fine. It’s a good, inexpensive spot. It’s not the best meal or best diner ever, but it’s a solid stop right off the highway. If I was in the area again and needed a quick meal, I would probably order again.  Nothing about it was fancy or anything to write home about, but it was good. I wouldn’t drive far to go, though.
