The Fall weather has hit. I think the high humidity and temperature days are gone for the year. I can’t say I mind because Halloween is one of my favorite Holidays. Thinking out loud, there are a few new products or items that I either bought or was sent.
This jacket has been super warm and stylish. I can wear it anytime and haven’t taken it off except to wash it. It comes in a couple of different colors, and I want them all. As embarrassing as it is, I think half of my Instagram photos have been in that jacket. It’s warm but not hot, and it breathes well (also protects from the wind). I’m obsessed, and I’m probably going to buy every color. Plus it’s fitted. I like to pretend I’m a fashionista, and a traffic cone orange jacket is enough to make any modeling agency hire me.

I bought this watch a couple of months ago. My Garmin 10 began not syncing to my computer in June 2014. Since June 2014 (yes nearly 18 months ago), I have not plugged my Garmin into any computer.
Some features I love about the Garmin 220:
- The obvious ability to view my runs
- Ability to program workouts
- Capacity to wireless synch to the Garmin app
I think this watch has changed my running a lot. I do my workouts on the road and don’t take long “extra” breaks. It tells me exactly when my 90-second break is up, and I like that. If you like heart rate, Garmin just released the 225 model that has the same features and heart rate too.
Sparkly Soul Headband:
As some people may know, I get migraines. While I haven’t had any significant migraines since college, I did have 2 in college that sent me to the Emergency room.
What do migraines have to do with headbands?
A lot of tight headbands give me headaches. The Sparkly Soul Headband does not. I use a lot of mousse to keep my hair tamed, and it keeps it in place. To be honest before trying one at Runners World Festival, I never thought I would be able to wear something tight around my head. Most of the headbands are over the top glitz for me, but they have several that I like.

Food:
Grape and Cherry Tomatoes:
I live in New Jersey, known as the Garden State. What most people don’t know is that there are Gardens off of the turnpike. I’m fortunate that I can go to local markets and load on tomatoes which is what I’ve been doing. I wish tomatoes were in season all year round.

I have been eating these by the gallon. I love how sweet they are, and I enjoy grilling and sautéing them as well as just eating them raw.
I was contacted by Sunwarrior protein to try their protein powders. I have been searching for a protein powder that doesn’t cause me to bloat. I have found with several protein powders that I bloat or get abdominal distress. I was lucky to try both the chocolate and vanilla and both were excellent. I ended up going to my local Vitamin Shop to purchase more vanilla afterward.
I like to have a scoop of protein powder in my yogurt or milk after workouts or races. It absorbs into my system well and I always find that I recover much faster. So far I have used about half of the tub and I haven’t had any issues! I would recommend Sunwarrior for anyone looking for a protein powder.

(The original individual packages were sent to me at no cost, but I have since bought a giant tub of vanilla).
Fashion:
Scarves and Sweaters

I could wear scarves and oversized sweaters every single day.
Question for you: What are some fall items you are loving?
I never liked headbands until I tried Sparkly Soul either. They are soft but stay put. I need to try the Saucony jacket. I have two Nikes ones that I love but I wear then so often that I need to add another to the rotation since I get them so sweaty and gross and laundry isint my favorite.
OMFG NJ tomatoes. heart.
You understand!
I am all about sweaters and scarfs lately as well! I recently got a scuba hoodie from Lulu and I’m obsessed with it. Really pricy but worth it since I wear it every day now!
I really like lulu and their stuff lasts forever…which is part of the problem because I feel bad buying new patterns LOL.
I love those sparkly soul headbands. I have 4 of them now. My only gripe is I wore a white one the day after dying my hair, and it got sweaty so the hair dye got on the headband! Fortunately it’s only on the underside so I can still wear it, but I was sad. I get a lot of compliments on the headbands when I wear them.
I’m looking at that Garmin to replace my 10 (the strap is breaking and it’s 3 years old anyway). I love that you can program the track workouts in it because otherwise I’m estimating my breaks and taking too much or not enough recovery. I have heard it syncs quickly as well.
No need for a running jacket in Charleston, but yours is cute!
I have a suba jacket from Lulu that I basically live in as well. But I’m thinking I need to pick up a new one because this one is probably close to 5 years old and it’s starting to show how much I love it 😆
I really like the Sun Warrior protein too. If you send them an email (new customers) they will send you some free samples with only a charge for shipping. I like the taste of Whey but they ALL cause me to bloat. So I now stay with the plant-based ones – Vega and Sun Warrior are my favorites now.
I like my light-weight Brooks running vest – perfect over a long-sleeve for the colder Fall morning runs!
Oh wow! That’s really awesome, I had no idea! I’ve been looking for a really warm puffer vest myself…
i’m loving the posts on instagram of the new Oiselle one 🙂 might “have” to splurge!
The Saucony Omni Zip is my favorite. I made my mom buy one for herself because she loved mine so much!
Which color do you have?
LOVE that jacket! I don’t think we have it at the store yet. My personal favorite is that long north face jacket I got last year (I think you have the same one? like furry inside). I don’t think there’s any such thing as too many jackets, running or otherwise. I’m just starting to understand how scarves work lol
fall hasnt quite hit here yet but I cant wait to bust out my boots! sweaters are ok, but boots are where its at! love the scarf, super cute pattern.
I have zero fashion sense. So I think I own a few scarves but no boots and leggings. lol Anyway, I love love love tomatoes! I like to slice them all up (red, grape, yellow, blood red all kinds) sauté them with olive oil, garlic, Italian seasoning and make a delicious pasta sauce…anyway. That’s about as betty crocker as I can get. On another note, I’m still super old school with my garmin 110 and still have never plugged the thing into my computer. Three years later. lol I’m asking for the 220 for Christmas! Hoping my husband plays santa nicely this year. 😉
I’m glad you brought up the other tomato colors! A lot of people don’t realize they exist and they are just as awesome. I hope you are able to try out the 220, it’s such an awesome watch.
I need to try that protein powder! And I was admiring your Saucony jacket this past weekend. Love it!!!
I love sparkly soul! and sun warrior it was my first protein powder I need to go back to it.
I’m so glad you finally tried a sparkly soul!
fall weather hasn’t really started here yet :/ but boots! and oversized sweaters are my fav.
i just bought some new booties last week as a birthday present to myself and i’m OBSESSED with them! 🙂
Love the sparkly band. I like a bit of sparkle and bling. Ha! I wish I could insert emojis in here. I love tomato sandwiches. Bread, tomatoes, and cheese. Specifically, the laughing cow creamy spreadable shindigs. SO GOOD.
