I don’t have a lot to say this week.  It seems like when my running is going well, life is chaotic.  Lately, I’ve been busy with work.  This weekend is a big race weekend in Philadelphia and New Jersey.  On Saturday is the Philadelphia RnR and Sunday is the Run the Bridge 10k.  While I’m not racing over the Ben Franklin Bridge, my work has packet pickup and helps out a lot with the race.

I’ve also been dealt a slice of humble pie with military life and culture.   To be honest, the last two weeks have been mentally rough!  This month has taught me that everything can change in a blink of an eye.  It’s been hard to schedule anything but I’m okay with that.

Speaking of the military, I’ve also been lucky with a few blogging opportunities.  With Veterans Day coming up, I was contacted to help promote Great Clips.  Believe it or not Great Clipsis giving out free haircuts for all Veterans.  I think this is such a nice gesture.  Both my brother and husband are in the military and my father was as well.  If you know any Veterans who want or need a haircut, let them know.  I’ll be expanding upon this as Veterans Day draws closer!

National Coffee Day

There are only a few foodie holidays I like to celebrate or even point out.  Every day is a different food day if you google it.

But seriously: Here is a list of “National Foodie Days” incase you ever wondered.

Anyways National Coffee Day is a “Holiday” I will celebrate proudly.  Most people know I drink a lot of coffee but what they don’t realize is a lot of it is decaf.  I truly enjoy the taste of coffee but honestly don’t need or want that much caffeine every day.

Personally I love the taste of coffee.  Whether it’s decaf, flavored, with lots of cream or minimal…I enjoy coffee a lot! I don’t discriminate.

My current favorite coffee is obviously the seasonal pumpkin spice with whipped cream.

Why the whipped cream?  As you drink the coffee, it gets more creamy (since the whipped cream melts).  It’s more bitter at first and then creamy towards the end.  It’s the perfect combination in my opinion.

Life Updates

It is hard to believe we are through another week of the summer.  It’s strange to think how fast this summer is going.  A month ago, schools were getting out.  In another month, they’ll be starting again.

This week was unique for me.  My work schedule is beginning to change and I enjoyed a lot of unscheduled and unplanned fun.

Fridays have become a collage of random thoughts on LOLZ blog.  Some weeks I post articles, some weeks I post life updates and some weeks I don’t post…Hashtag so random.

Random Week Activities: 

I went to the track!  I’ve done a few track workouts before but not in a VEERRRRRRYYYYYY long time (think 3+ years).  I was pleasantly surprised with how much fun I had.

I went back to brunette.  Some people pull off blonde hair color well but I’m not one of them.  I don’t regret dying my hair but I don’t see myself ever going back to blonde.

I wanted to wait at least a month before getting it redone because it was such a chemical bomb to my hair…

I finally finished my DIY project of repainting my small night stand.  It’s my first DIY project and I think it turned out well.

Life, Articles and Packages Growing Out of Pots

It’s Friday!  This week has gone by so slowly and I’m excited to relax into this weekend.

The other day I received a package from Amazon.  I guess my mailman decided that putting my package on the potted plant was appropriate.  I guess Amazon could be so developed that packages now grow out of the ground too…

On Monday my sister in law and family stopped into work.  They all needed new running shoes and I was lucky to have a little assistant to help me.


Other then that I’ve been cleaning all week on my off time.  My house has been in desperate need of a serious deep cleaning.  I’m proud that I’m finally getting on top of that.

I also have decided to spend some free time painting furniture.  I figured we were going to get rid of it anyways, so if it doesn’t turn out well I haven’t lost too much.

Catching Up and a Few Articles

If your week has gone anything like mine, it’s been SAS.  Slow as…well you get it.  This weekend went from boring to exciting in the matter of one day.  The previous week was spent catching up on life, work and everything in between.  I was lucky to hang out with my coworker and go to a new Mediterranean restaurant on Tuesday evening.  The restaurant, Zaffron in downtown Haddonfield is excellent and I would recommend it to anyone in Haddonfield (and their primarily location in Center City Philadelphia).

Then on Wednesday I was able to meet Liz (my fellow 5k runner) for coffee at a local coffee shop.  We ended up chatting for about 2 hours.  It was so nice to talk and not be running.
