CookUnity Meals is a chef-inspired meal delivery service designed to bring restaurant-quality dishes directly to your door. As my spouse is away, I’ve been searching for easy meal delivery services to simplify cooking and enjoy delicious meals without the hassle of grocery shopping. I’m not a fan of spending unnecessary time in stores, and by trying various meal delivery services, I’ve saved both money and time. Surprisingly, skipping impulse buys at the grocery store adds up, making CookUnity and other services cost-effective in the long run.
I appreciate that the CookUnity Meals come precooked and you just need to pop into your microwave. I don’t really care for meal delicvery services that take longer to cook than the regular ole meals that I would cook at home. That’s not what I’m interested in.
Before trying CookUnity Meals, I had a few questions:

Why Choose CookUnity Meals?
One of the standout features of CookUnity meals is their wide availability. They deliver to 47 states, including remote areas like the Mojave Desert. The process starts by entering your zip code and selecting between 4 to 16 meals per week. Like other meal delivery services, the more meals you choose, the lower the cost per meal. Pricing ranges from $13.49 to $10.49 per meal, depending on your selection. Additionally, CookUnity offers a range of premium upgrades, allowing you to enjoy gourmet meals that go beyond standard fare.
When signing up, CookUnity asks about your dietary goals. Whether you’re aiming for muscle gain, low-calorie meals, or just want delicious food, they have options to fit your needs. You can also specify preferred protein sources, including vegetarian and vegan meal options. This flexibility makes CookUnity stand out among healthy meal delivery services.
CookUnity Menu and Meal Diversity

Meals vary between 360 to 1200+ calories, accommodating light eaters as well as those needing high-calorie meals to fuel their lifestyle. As a runner, I appreciated having heartier meal options compared to the standard 400-600 calorie limits common in other services. The diveristy with CookUnity is definetly on a higher level than any other meal delivery service.
CookUnity Delivery and Packaging
My CookUnity meals arrived fresh with minimal packaging. The box contained ice packs and insulation, but less than I’ve seen with other meal delivery services. I’ve used CookUnity Meals for a few years now (not every week), anbd I’bve had some issues occasionally with meals delivered that either went bad, never made it, or the packaging was destroyed. The customer service for CookUnity Meals has been good and they’ve given me credits to use. Often this has happened in the middle of the summer when the ice packs come completly melted and the meals don’t look like they should be eaten.
Sustainability is important to me, and I was happy to see that all CookUnity packaging is recyclable, including the meal trays.
Reheating CookUnity Meals
Reheating is simple. CookUnity meals can be warmed in the microwave or cooked the chef’s way in the oven. While the microwave is quicker, the oven method enhances the flavors and textures, mimicking restaurant-quality dining. I primarily used the microwave and found the meals tasted great regardless of the method.

Here are a few standout CookUnity meals I’ve tried:
Since the last CookUnity review, they’ve also added breakfast meals. I don’t typically have the CookUnity meals breakfasts but I’ve tried a couple including the pancakes and they’ve been decent. I think they are higher calorie for what you actually get and I’m usually hungry a few hours later, but they taste good. If you are looking for on the go breakfasts, they might be a good one for you.
Cost:
CookUnity pricing varies depending on the number of meals you order:
- 4 meals: $13.59 per meal
- 16 meals: $11.09 per meal
This pricing is comparable to other premium meal delivery services but yes, CookUnity is slightly more expensive. While it may be slightly higher, the quality and uniqueness of the meals justify the cost.
CookUnity Meals do offer many discounts for new subscribers. The one thing that frustrates me (and many others as seen on their social media) is once you are subscribed, they never offer discounts again. It would be nice if they offered discounts like once a year for loyal subscribers.
Customer Service:
Customer Service for CookUnity has been pretty good. As mentioned above, I had a couple of issues with meals coming that weren’t edible and they were responsive and gave me credits to use later. Plus, they’ve answered a few questions I’ve had recently.
Cancelling CookUnity meals is also easy. You can simply cancel on the website with no issues. You can skip meals, choose a different delivery date or cancel the meals without having to talk to a customer service rep or go through any sort of process. I’ve canceled for months and come back (due to whatever life circumstance) with no issues.
