I was excited to try the Chirp Wheel XR 4 Neck and Headache. I’ve heard a lot of good things about Chirp, so I was pumped to try them for myself. I sit at a desk most of the day and swimming gives me tight neck muscles, so I figured this might be the perfect foam roller for that.

• Does the Chirp Wheel XR 4 Neck and Headache work? I think so, like any recovery device it works as much as you use it. So if you use it as needed, you’ll see results. If you use it once or twice and let it stay in your closet, then you aren’t going to see the results you are looking for.

My Experience with the Chirp Wheel XR 4 Neck and Headache

When I first saw the Chirp Wheel XR 4, I thought: “Will this really help?” It looks like just a small foam roller. I get headaches often, and I know swimming has caused tight neck and trap muscles. I also know working hunched over at my computer certainly does not help. So anyway, I was definitely skeptical. After positioning it just right, I realized it does indeed work. I appreciate the spinal canal to take pressure off your spine, and I imagine foam rolling this area incorrectly can be super dangerous. The nubs on either side really dig into my problem areas in the neck, I really had no idea how tight my neck was until I started using this.

I love the size because it really works into my neck muscles. I use it often and have noticed my back and neck are just a lot less tight. I’m definitely going to pick up some of the other options.

While the Chirp Wheel XR 4 is not the cheapest option around, it’s the only one I know of dedicated to neck and back pain. You can also bundle and save so that you can get the best deals for multiple different foam rollers including the 6 and 10 inches.

Who should not buy the Chirp Wheel XR 4 Headache and Neck? There isn’t a reason not to, but if you are looking for a traditional foam roller, this isn’t it. It’s designed specifically for the neck.
