While in Chincoteague, I stopped at Maria’s Family Restaurant. While it doesn’t have diner in the name, that is definitely what it is. The outside is a modest building on the side of Chincoteague. The food is ok but not great. It is everything you expect from a diner.
Maria’s Family Restaurant Atmosphere: B
You won’t find a big shiny building, but Maria’s Family Restaurant is a modest mom-and-pop style building. It’s a stand-alone building on the side of the road that leads directly to the beach in Chincoteague. Plus, there is mini-golf next door, which I had actually been many many years ago.
The exterior is clean with plenty of parking. Inside there are plenty of booths and tables. In fact, it has one of the biggest dining rooms I’ve seen.
Coffee: X
I’ve been a boring coffee drinker and didn’t order any this time around.
Maria’s Family Restaurant Food: B
Maria’s Family Restaurant has almost any diner entry that you are looking for. All-day breakfast? Check. Pasta? Check. There are plenty of salad options if you are looking for something healthy too. I wasn’t too hungry that particular day. While they don’t have a website, you can find their menu on Facebook.
We decided to order the pizza bread as an appetizer for the table. It was fairly good and filling. I’m glad we did because my salad was definitely not big enough.
For my entree at Maria’s Family Restaurant, I decided to order a greek salad with chicken. I wasn’t too hungry, so it seemed like a good option. When it came out, it was a lot smaller than I anticipated. Plus, it was on a small plate and made it hard to eat. I had salad spilling on the table almost the entire time. It was a good salad, but I wish it were served in a bowl, and I wish I had twice the amount.
Maria’s Family Restaurant Service: B
Our waitress was friendly, but it took a long time for our food to come out. I was surprised because it wasn’t that busy.
Cost: $
For my salad and pizza bread, it was $20.

Ha Lindsey, unfortunately where I live now is about 30 minutes to get anywhere. To get to any diner, it’s at least an hour round trip! Thank you and I hope you had a wonderful weekend!
Well Holly, that’s quite an inconvenience! 😉
Hopefully when you travel you can hit ALL of the diners! 🍔🍳🥗🥓
