Butter Cream Diner and Bakery (Napa)

Butter Cream Diner and Bakery

Now that I’ve moved to a new state, there are new diners to go too, including Butter Cream Diner and Bakery.  A couple of people recommended it, so I was excited to go.

Butter Cream Diner and Bakery Atmosphere: A
Butter Cream Diner and Bakery stands out on the streets of Napa. It’s a bright pink building with plenty of window art saying: we are open, curbside service available. Napa is now open for indoor seating, but Butter Cream Diner also offers “car hop service”. With car hop service, you get to order directly from your car, plus enjoy music from the 50’s.

You can order from your car, and they will bring it out to you to sit under one of their Butter Cream Diner and Bakery tents. Like the glory days of diners! The staff at Butter Cream Diner and Bakery were all wearing masks, and I felt safe inside as well.

Inside is separated into (as the name suggests) a diner and bakery. You can walk and sit at the diner or pick up some treats at the bakery. Because I was there, I thought…why not both.

Coffee: A
The coffee was brewed hot and fresh. There was a sign inside that said they use Peet’s Coffee, and it tasted good. I always appreciate Peet’s Coffee when on the west coast.

Butter Cream Diner and Bakery Food: B
The Butter Cream Diner and Bakery menu have everything a typical diner would have. It’s a fairly greasy spoon, and you want find a lot of healthier options. I decided to go for “Dave’s Special,” which was grilled cheese with bacon. I chose rye bread.

It also came with potato chips. I would expect fries or something, but the chips were fine.

The Dave’s Special was good and I would order it again. It’s definitely in the top of grilled cheeses I’ve had.

Dessert: A

Because I was at a bakery, I couldn’t leave without dessert. I opted for a giant glazed donut. I think. I just pointed at it from the counter, and they pulled it. It was like a giant glazed donut but looked like a cinnamon roll.

I was happy with my selection, and it tasted good. I’m looking forward to trying other dessert items at Butter Cream Diner and Bakery.

Service: A
Everyone, including the staff, was wearing a mask.  The waitress and hostess were very friendly and gave great recommendations on what to order.

Everything appeared safe, and I love the fun idea of carhop service. In all, it was a great experience, and I look forward to going back.

Cost: $
For the Dave’s Special, coffee, and glazed donut, it was $14.

Overall Thoughts/Would I Come Back?

I liked Butter Cream Diner and Bakery, and I’ll definitely be back. It’s a fun, cute spot, and it will probably become my local bakery. Plus, as far as the Napa area goes, it’s fairly inexpensive.
