The Blairstown Diner is extra special because it’s the site of where the original Friday the 13th movie was filmed. It’s only fair that a movie that includes a diner is a New Jersey Diner. I have wanted to visit the Blairstown Diner for years, but the timing never worked out. When I was in the area last month, I was able to stop. Plus their social media is awesome.
Blairstown Diner Atmosphere: A
The Blairstown Diner resembles any small-town diner. It’s a shiny, metallic diner that has stood the test of time. From the outside, it looks like a shiny, metallic New Jersey diner.
The inside of the Blairstown Diner has plenty of Friday the 13th memorabilia and even a Freddy Poster. It’s one of the smaller side. When we arrived, we got the lat booth next to the door. It’s one of my least favorite spots to sit because it gets cold quickly with the door opening and shutting.
Blairstown Diner Coffee: B
The coffee was good, but there was nothing unique or interesting about it. I was hoping for a few refills.
Blairstown Diner Food: B
The Blairstown Diner menu has everything a regular diner has. It has daily specials including breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There are plenty of omelets, pancakes, and breakfast specials. For dinner, you have daily specials like pork chops., sandwiches, and wraps.
It didn’t come with any sides and was kind of like a wrap placed on a plate.
Blairstown Diner Service: B
The waitress at the Blairstown Diner was friendly, but the food took a while to come out.
Blairstown Diner Price: $
For my coffee, cornbread, and wrap, it was $14.
Overall Thoughts/Would I Come Back to the Blairstown Diner?
I would come back to the Blairstown Diner and for the relation to the original Friday the 13th movie, I think anyone driving close should go. That being said, did I think it was the best diner in NJ? No, it’s right in the middle.
