Black and Blue Diner (Las Vegas)

Black and Blue Diner (Las Vegas)

While I was in Las Vegas, I went to the Black and Blue Diner. Despite being in Nevada several times, I’ve never made it to a diner, so I was excited to cross Nevada off my list. According to their website, they have the “best breakfast in town.” The Black and Blue Diner has also been on TV. It took me a while to figure out why, but it was opened by Las Vegas chef and Food Network star Vic Vegas.

Black and Blue Diner Atmosphere: B

As you might expect, the Black and Blue Diner has a black and blue atmosphere. The exterior has blue lighting and black paneling. It matches the “black and blue theme.” While it’s not a metallic diner, it does look like a diner. Plus it matches the name. Vic Vegas didn’t have any attachment to black and blue but just decided to name it that.

When you step inside, there are hints of a diner but also a fast-food restaurant. It actually appears as though it once was one with a drive-through that doesn’t look like it’s being used. There are plenty of booths, tables, and a full-length bar.

Coffee: X

I didn’t order coffee this time around.

Black and Blue Diner Food: A

The Black and Blue Diner menu has everything you expect in a diner. From chicken and waffles and breakfast burritos to a few lunch options and even several vegan options. There aren’t many diners with vegan options, so this is fun! You can see the full Black and Blue Diner menu here.

Black and Blue Diner (Las Vegas) breakfast burrito

I decided to order the breakfast burrito with hash browns. It came with scrambled eggs, bacon, onions, bell pepper, cheddar cheese, and potatoes inside a tortilla. It was jam-packed and perfectly wrapped. It didn’t fall apart when I attempted to eat and tasted great. I do appreciate diner burritos but they can be challenging to eat when they fall apart. The hashbrowns also tasted good, and I would order them again. In all, my meal was excellent.

Black and Blue Diner Service: A

This might be where the diner shines. When we entered we were immediately greeted by two different staff members. The waitress and hostess were both very friendly, maybe even the most friendly of any staff. The food came out quickly, and I could not have asked for better service.

Cost: $

For my breakfast burrito, the cost was $10.99. It’s definitely not the most expensive diner out there and not even in Las Vegas. In fact, it’s one of the cheaper options to get a meal.

Overall Thoughts/Would I Come Back to the Black and Blue Diner?

I really enjoyed my experience at the Black and Blue Diner, and I would come back. The staff is friendly, the food tasted good and came out quickly, what more could you ask for in a diner? It’s a great option right off the strip if you are looking for a quick meal. I did notice they take reservations so I imagine it might get busy on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
