My Experience with The Lasting Change

To purchase The Lasting Change, you have to complete a 35-part quiz to help create your personalized book. One thing I highly dislike about some brands is when they require a long quiz and ask for your email without providing much information about the brand or product upfront. I was shocked when the final price appeared—even with a significant discount, it was still $70+. If they had disclosed the price earlier, it would have been easier to accept.

That said, the quiz is quite detailed. You input information about whether you’re an early bird or night owl, your sleep habits, how you start the day, and more. You also get to choose your cover colors and the name you want on the book. My guess is that a good portion of the cost is due to the personalization process.

Finally, it felt like it took The Lasting Change forever to get here. So much so, I forgot I had purchased it. I know it takes a while to personalize but it still stinks when it takes nearly two weeks to come. You can purchase the The Lasting Change in digital form and their online app if you can’t wait. I personally didn’t want or need another subscription and it felt weird to buy the digital book too. I guess if you want access to do the book again, having the digital book and being able print again is a good thing.

I’ve always enjoyed journaling and using physical books. Maybe I’ve never fully embraced the digital age (I kid, somewhat). I appreciate that The Lasting Change provides dozens of guided exercises to help identify your personal triggers. It’s a book that fosters self-awareness and may reveal habits or challenges you didn’t even realize were influencing your behavior.

Working through the prompts, I’ve had several self-realizations about things I never noticed about myself. Overall, I’m a big fan of the book, but I’m not entirely sure it’s worth hundreds of dollars—or even the $70 I paid.
