I was really excited to try the BrüMate Paragon Hydration Pack 7.5 L. I’ve been looking for something for longer hikes that holds plenty of water but is comfortable. While I love my running packs, they don’t always hold enough water or hydration. Trail running for two hours is very different than hiking for 10 hours. Before trying the BrüMate Paragon Hydration Pack, I had a few questions:
- Do I really need a hydration pack?
- Yes, of course! Especially living in the Mojave Desert where people die on short hikes because they are ill-prepared. Every person, no matter the distance, can benefit from a hydration pack.
- Is the BrüMate Paragon Hydration Pack comfortable?
- Yes, I’ve now worn it on several hikes with no issues.
- Is the BrüMate Paragon Hydration Pack heavy?
- While it’s heavier than some other hydration packs, it keeps beverages cold, and you don’t have to worry about that. So it’s worth it, in my opinion.

My Experience with the BrüMate Paragon Hydration Pack
BrüMate is known for their nice tumblers and drinkware so I was curious of how the hydration pack would be. I’ll be honest, when I first picked up the BrüMate Paragon Hydration Pack, I was a bit nervous about the weight. It seemed like it could be very heavy over the course of 6 or 10 hours of hiking. However, after filling it with water and adjusting it, it actually didn’t feel too bad. I’ve since used it for several hikes, and it’s felt comfortable each time. I haven’t had any issues, which was very surprising to me.
It’s a lot more narrow and smaller than other hiking packs. If I have a ton of gear I’m carrying, it may not be the best fit because it just doesn’t hold enough. But for several hours of hiking, especially in the summertime, I’ve had no issues. In all, I’m a big fan. It does hold a lot more than I was anticipating and the pack itself just feels high quality.
Cost: $150
At $150, it’s right in the middle of hiking pack prices. I have some that are more expensive and some that are less. As far as quality, the BrüMate Paragon Hydration Pack is very high quality for just $150.
BruMate Paragon Hydration Pack Conclusion:
As mentioned, the BrüMate Paragon Hydration Pack is ideal for hikers, festival-goers, and outdoor enthusiasts seeking a reliable, stylish hydration solution. With its 40oz Alloy Insulated Reservoir, customizable fit, and ample storage, it offers excellent performance for adventures lasting several hours. Its slightly heavier weight is balanced by the ability to keep beverages cold for over 24 hours, making it a great choice for those prioritizing hydration and comfort on long excursions. I’ll continue to use it as I hike up SoCal peaks.
