Skylight Calendar Review

I was curious about Skylight Calendar. As a busy professional balancing work, my spouse’s job, and fun activities, it can feel overwhelming to stay organized. I’ve always used a paper planner to manage my schedule, but it only covers my plans, not my spouse’s. We are forever asking each other, “What are you up to?”

I was curious about the Skylight Calendar. I like that it syncs calendars and offers a clean, digital way to manage all your events. Before trying it, I had a few questions:

  • Is Skylight Calendar worth it? I think it is, but I also recognize this is a want, not a need. A $5 paper calendar could give you most of the same features. Still, I really like ours.
  • Is the Pro Plus Plan worth it? I don’t believe so, but I also don’t need a chore chart or to share photos.

About the Brand Skylight

Skylight is focused on connecting families through innovative digital solutions. Founded by a team of Harvard Business School graduates, Skylight emerged from the need to easily share meaningful moments with loved ones across distances. Their flagship product, the Skylight Frame, bridges the gap between digital and non-digital worlds by displaying digital photos in a physical space. Expanding on this vision, Skylight created the Skylight Calendar to simplify family schedules and communication. My Experience with Skylight Calendar

I didn’t feel like I needed a digital display or a chore chart for just my spouse and me. Maybe if we had children or a larger family, but alas, our cats aren’t doing chores! The Skylight Calendar comes in 10-inch, 15-inch, and now 27-inch designs. I chose the 10-inch model. I didn’t feel like I needed the larger version, and the price was hard to justify.

The 10-inch size feels perfect for me, and I’m happy with my choice. I also didn’t feel the need for the Pro Plus Plan. My spouse and I are fine without chore rewards, meal planning, or the photo screensaver.

A couple of things to keep in mind: Skylight Calendar requires a WiFi connection to function. It also doesn’t run on batteries, so it needs to be plugged in all the time. I didn’t realize this before, which was a bit of a disappointment.

While some aspects might sound negative, my overall experience has been positive. The Skylight Calendar syncs with Google, Apple, Outlook, Yahoo, Cozi, and Readdle calendars, and any calendar with a public sharing link. Using it is easy, and you can add events either through the phone app or directly on the calendar itself. I’ve found the app to be the easiest way to add events. You can also color-code tasks, making it simple to spot important items.

Since we can both work weird hours, it’s been great to track that. There is no more what time are you working until. Plus, because you have the app, you can pull it up on the go when you aren’t home. I actually think the app is a bit more user friendly than the actual calendar.

Am I happy with the Skylight Calendar? Yes, I am. I think it’s worth it, but there are a few quirks that could be improved in future versions.

Skylight also offers a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, allowing for a full refund up to 120 days after purchase if you’re not satisfied.

Cost:

At $160 for the 10-inch, $300 for the 15-inch, and $600 for the 27-inch, the Skylight Calendar isn’t cheap. Plus, there’s the additional cost of the Plus Plan. I find the 10-inch worth it for my needs, but I don’t think the larger versions would be necessary for me.

Conclusion

The Skylight Calendar has proven to be a nice addition to my daily routine. While it’s not a must-have for everyone, it offers convenience for those juggling multiple schedules especially if you have children. Its ability to sync calendars from various sources, track chores, and simplify planning makes it a helpful tool for families and busy professionals alike.

The price point may be steep for some, but if you’re looking for an easy way to keep everyone on the same page, Skylight is a solid choice.

Skylight Calendar Pros:

  • Digital calendar you can bring anywhere
  • Syncs almost any public calendar

Skylight Calendar Cons:

  • Expensive and a lot of features require a subscription
  • Needs Wifi and to be plugged in
