Bandit Running Clothing Review (2026): Is It Worth It?

Advertisements

I first reviewed Bandit Running clothing in 2025 after spending a long time seeing the brand everywhere and wondering whether a race crop and compression shorts costing more than $150 together could justify the price.

More than a year later, Bandit has changed enough that the original review needed a substantial update. Prices have changed, the women’s line has expanded and Bandit has introduced several new fabric system.

My opinion is still fairly similar. The Bandit pieces I have run in are comfortable, carry a ridiculous amount for running clothing, and have stayed in place without becoming something I need to adjust every mile but the durability has not been great.

Price and durability are the biggest drawback. The limited-drop model still irritates me too, especially when something sells out before I have decided whether I even want to spend $80 or $90 on it.

If you are looking for a short answer to “Is Bandit Running worth it?” I would say maybe. It depends if fashion and a few uses is more important than durability. I am much less enthusiastic when I look at the total for a full outfit.

Is Bandit Running a Good Brand?

Bandit Running started in Brooklyn in October 2020, initially with running socks before expanding into performance apparel. Its first full performance collection arrived in 2022, and the brand has continued building around running clothing, events, community feedback, and limited seasonal releases. Bandit says new products go through wear testing and community feedback before release. It’s weird because it’s hard to even remember the running industry before Bandit (and yes I’ve been running for years).

Bandit running clothing has become especially good at storage. A lot of women’s running apparel still gives you one tiny pocket. Bandit has gone in the opposite direction, putting phone and gel storage into crops, bras, compression shorts, and split shorts.

What Changed With Bandit Running in 2026?

Bandit has expanded far beyond the Stamina pieces I originally bought. Spring and Summer 2026 brought Stamina-V, Vanisher, CoolGrid, Specter, updated Cadence pieces, new race crops, and more aggressive pocket layouts. The current Stamina-V 7-inch compression short has five pockets, including three phone pockets and two gel pockets, while newer Vanisher shorts add more fuel storage. Several of the newer women’s race crops now include removable cups.

By late August, Bandit was already moving into Fall 2026 with another group of fabric updates, including CoolGrid with Graphene and Polartec Waffle. Bandit is changing its apparel quickly enough that older reviews can become dated within a season.

I have not tested every new 2026 fabric. What I can say is that Bandit appears to be refining the areas that made the original pieces stand out: storage, sweat management, and women’s race-day clothing that can carry more than a key. They make men’s clothing as well. Bandit goes into far more technical detail in its Spring 2026 Evolution Report and Summer 2026 Evolution Report.

Bandit Running Stamina Race Crop Review

Size: Small
Fit: Between true to size and slightly large on me
Current price: $78

The Stamina Race Crop is still one of the better examples of why people get excited about Bandit. It has three phone-sized pockets, including two under the arms and one at the center back, while the Stamina fabric has a soft matte finish and enough structure that the crop does not feel flimsy. Bandit currently lists the fabric as 83% polyester and 17% spandex.

I like the storage far more than I expected. A phone in the back did not create the heavy pulling feeling that you can get with sports bra back pockets, and I could carry gels without turning my shorts into the only storage option. For racing and long runs, that is a big advantage. More pockets across the outfit means I can spread everything out instead of stuffing four gels and a phone into one waistband.

The Stamina Race Crop I tested does not have removable cups, and that remains my biggest complaint about this specific crop. I prefer having them. Bandit has clearly moved in that direction on newer designs, including the 2026 Vanisher V-Neck Race Crop and Striped Cadence Zip Front Race Crop, which both include removable cups.

Bandit Running Stamina 7-Inch Women’s Compression Shorts Review

Size: Small
Fit: True to size on me
Current price: $88

I was more nervous about the Stamina 7-inch compression shorts because I had heard complaints about Bandit compression shorts riding up. Mine have not. The longer inseam may help, but I can only judge the pair I have actually worn. I have several types of Bandit shorts and some fit phones and some do not.

What the heck? My second complaint that in multiple shorts, the sticky piece at the hem has come out. So then it’s dangling there like a weird garter thing…One time, ok I would say maybe it was fluke but it’s in a few pairs so I know the Bandit durability is not great.

The Stamina shorts use a soft, matte compression fabric with two phone-sized side pockets and a zippered back pocket for smaller items. Bandit’s current listing describes the original Stamina 7-inch version as 83% polyester and 17% spandex, with a hem treatment designed to prevent the shorts from riding up.

Anyway, I can carry a phone, gels, and small items without the waistband feeling overloaded, and the 7-inch length gives me more coverage than short compression shorts.

The price has climbed since my original review. The shorts were listed at $78 when I wrote that version; the current Stamina 7-inch version is $88. The newer Stamina-V 7-inch short is also $88 and changes the fabric while expanding storage to five pockets.

Would I call $88 cheap? Absolutely not. I do think the storage makes these easier to justify than an $88 pair of basic compression shorts with one key pocket but I do think it’s important to think about durability in the Bandit shorts too.

Does Bandit Running Fit True to Size?

Bandit says its clothing generally fits true to size, although fit varies by style. My experience is close to that, with one caveat: the Stamina Race Crop fit slightly larger on me than the compression shorts. I wear a small in both. The shorts fit true to size, while I could see someone between sizes choosing the smaller crop size for a closer fit.

I would check the individual size chart. The brand now uses several fabrics and silhouettes, and compression pieces can fit very differently from Micromesh tops or looser tanks.

Bandit currently has a 21-day return window for eligible items. International orders are final sale, and several limited or custom products have different restrictions.

Is the Bandit Running Membership Worth It?

The regular Bandit Membership price is $125 per year, although Bandit runs occasional promotions. Current benefits include a $75 Bandit gift card, annual socks, 10% off orders, free shipping with no minimum, 24-hour early access to releases, and partner discounts.

My answer from the original review still stands: the membership can be worth it for someone who already expects to buy Bandit multiple times during the year. If you only want one crop or one pair of shorts, then it’s not.

Something else to keep in mind, is the Bandit socks are comfortable but not durable. My original Bandit socks from 2025 are going strong, but the 2026 already have holes in it. They ripped within 2 months.

The early-access benefit has more value with Bandit than it would with a brand that keeps every color and size in stock for months. Limited releases remain part of how Bandit sells clothing, and popular products can disappear quickly.

I still do not love that model. Paying for early access because products may sell out is not one of my favorite parts of shopping for running clothing.

Bandit Running vs. Other Premium Running Apparel

Bandit is competing in the same broad premium-running space as brands such as Tracksmith, although the styling and storage approach are different. Bandit tends to put more emphasis on race storage and limited seasonal drops, while Tracksmith has a more traditional (and in my opinion elitist) running aesthetic.

If you are comparing options, I have a full Tracksmith Apparel Review. I have reviewed several other running apparel brands too, including PYNRS Performance Streetwear and rabbit apparel. My broader running shoe and gear review directory has the rest. Rabbit is my favorite at the moment.

The biggest reason I would choose Bandit over another premium brand is storage. If I am racing or doing a long run and want my clothing to carry a phone and multiple gels, Bandit gives me more options than many brands. If storage is irrelevant and I only want a comfortable crop and shorts, the price plus the durability is harder to say: yes Bandit is worth it.

Who Should Buy Bandit Running Clothing?

Bandit is a good fit for runners who want race clothing with substantial storage, prefer a modern minimal look, and are willing to pay premium prices for pieces they plan to use frequently. I would especially look at Bandit if you hate running belts and want your crop or compression shorts to carry fuel and a phone.

It is harder to recommend for runners shopping on a budget, anyone who dislikes limited drops, values durability, or someone who wants very predictable sizing across every style. The price can stack up quickly when a crop and shorts are each around $80 to $90.

Bandit Running Clothing Review Conclusion

After updating this Bandit Running review for 2026, my biggest change is how durable the product is over time. I like the clothing more than I like the pricing model. The Stamina Race Crop gives me far more storage than a normal crop, and the 7-inch compression shorts have stayed in place while carrying everything I need for longer runs.

Bandit has improved the women’s line since my first review. The expanded storage systems, newer fabrics, and removable cups on several 2026 race crops are changes I wanted to see. I am glad the brand is moving in that direction, although I would still hesitate before calling an $88 pair of shorts an automatic purchase.
