rabbit Cadence Collection Review

Advertisements

The new rabbit Cadence Collection is designed to run fast. rabbit says Cadence grew out of the Dream Chaser collection, with more technical fabrics, more ventilation, refined fits, and details meant for harder training and racing.

I’ve been a huge fan of rabbit since 2017. I’ve written several reviews throughout the years including:

Questions I’ve been asked about the rabbit Cadence Collection:

What is the rabbit Cadence Collection?
The rabbit Cadence Collection is a performance-focused apparel line built around faster training and race-adjacent running, with Tempo tops and Pacer bottoms leading the lineup. rabbit says it grew out of the Dream Chaser collection, with refined fits, new technical fabrics, and more ventilation.

Is the rabbit Cadence Collection good for hot weather running?
Yes! rabbit describes the Tempo tops as lightweight and breathable, with mesh paneling, cooling fabrics, and zonal ventilation. If you run in heat and want a top that does not feel heavy, the Cadence collection looks aimed at that.

What pieces are in the rabbit Cadence Collection?
The collection includes multiple Tempo tops plus Pacer bottoms. On the men’s side, we have the Tempo Tank, Tempo Tee SS, Tempo Tee LS, and Pacer Hybrid Shorts 5″. Women’s Tempo options also include a cropped tank.

Do rabbit Cadence shorts have pockets?
Yes. The Pacer Hybrid Shorts 5″ have three pockets total: one back zip pocket for keys or nutrition and two side liner pockets that fit most phones. I have gotten to the point that I need pockets in my running shorts, so this is essential.

Is the rabbit Cadence Collection for racing or everyday running?
It looks more like fast-day gear than pure easy-day gear. rabbit says the Cadence collection is focused on training and performance. You can use it for every day training but the best use is racing.

Now, let’s get into an honst reivew of the rabbit Cadence Collection.

About the brand rabbit:

rabbit started after co-founder Jill Deering got tired of searching for running shorts that actually fit and brought the idea to Monica DeVreese, another Santa Barbara runner. The brand came together in 2013, launched in 2014, and has stayed rooted in that made-by-runners mindset ever since.
A lot of people don’t realize that the brand is “rabbit”. Not “run in rabbit” “Rabbit”, just rabbit. (And lowercase too). There is a lot of confusion online with that!
rabbit is female-founded, based in Santa Barbara, and leans into performance apparel.
Who doesn’t love good pocket storage?

rabbit Cadence Collection Gear I tried:

Pacer Pocket Crop:
Cost: $70

The rabbit Pacer Pocket Crop sits is one of my new found favorite race day crops. With a built-in bra designed for medium support, best for A/B to B/C cups, and it is made for faster running days. It is currently one of my favorite crops to run in.

The PacerKnit main body has a smooth, slightly compressive feel that stays comfortable as the run goes on. The ChillMesh panels help with airflow in spots that tend to overheat, and the Polartec Power Dry liner does a good job managing sweat without that heavy, soaked feeling later. Living in the Mojave Desert, I am always looking for gear that keeps me cool…especially in the summer time.

What sets the rabbit Cadence Collection apart from many brands is storage. The Pacer Pocket Crop has three pockets, including two side panel pockets and one in the back. Each of those pockets fits a phone and I usually store mine in the back. Where I store my phone changes what kind of shorts I can wear to include looser fitting or even buns because I no longer “need” shorts with pockets (do I like them…of course).

The fit stays secure. It does not bounce much, even when the pockets are used, and it sits right at the navel without shifting around mid-run. It feels built for movement, not just standing around. Compared to other crops, the Pacer Pocket Crop just feels like it is made for your fastest of fast days. This is the top you are going to PR in.

At $70, it is not cheap, but it’s really no more than any other crop top these days. If you want a top that can handle workouts, races, and still carry your essentials, this one from the rabbit Cadence Collection earns its spot pretty quickly. This is one of my favorite crops for 2026 and the side pockets and phone pocket sets it apart from some of the more basic options out there.

rabbit Pacer 4″ Short:

Cost: $75

The rabbit Pacer Shorts 4″ is one of my all time favorite shorts and really that is saying a lot because man I’ve tried probably 100 pairs of shorts throughout the years. They are fitted, mid-rise boy shorts with a 4-inch inseam, and they lean toward workouts and racing. My favorite lengths of shorts for training are 4-7 inch (I know…I’m old with those 7 inchers…anyway my preference for racing is around 4 inch). I mostly use the rabbit Pacer for racing.

The PacerKnit fabric has a compressive feel, but not overly tight, and it stays smooth against the skin. It breathes better than a lot of shorts in this category, especially when the pace picks up or the weather is warmer. Now that we are getting into the warmer months having breathable shorts is a must.

As mentioned, what sets the rabbit Cadence Collection apart is the storage and as far as storage, you get three pockets, including a back zip pocket and two side stash pockets that can hold a phone. The one downfall for me is that the side pockets do not carry as much as some of their other options. If you pair these with the Pacer Pocket Crop, you should be mostly fine, but hopefully in round two they’ll make the pocket a bit wider. I can carry my phone in these, but I do need to take it out of the case which I don’t love. It really hasn’t been an issue though.

The fit stays put and they don’t ride up. The silicone grip strips along the leg openings do their job without digging in, and the external drawstring helps with fit too. There is not much shifting or riding up, even during faster efforts.

At $75, they sit on the higher end, but if you want something you can race in and train in these are a good option.

Great for racing

rabbit Cadence Collection Conclusion

The rabbit Cadence Collection is built for runners who want lightweight tops that ventilate and fitted bottoms or crops that can carry more than one gel. If you’re looking for fast day fits, this is a great choice. I’m not in marathon training season now, but when I am having multiple pockets to store fuel and race day stuff is essential.
