As I continued searching for new gels and fuels to try, I stumbled upon VFuel. I’ve heard of it before but, actually, never tried it. I have a lot of friends that use it, so I thought what not try it?

VFuel claims their Endurance Gels are the most digestible on the market. They say away from fructose minimalizes GI issues associated. They also use a proprietary blend of Maltodextrin, Dextrose, and MCT oil. I was interested when VFuel said they were the only gel to contain MCT oil. What does that mean? MCT Oil creates smooth energy. Plus, athletes have reported less muscle soreness with the five classes of recovery ingredients.
My Experience with the VFuel Endurance Gels:
With any gels, I just want to know: do they work? Do they taste good? Do I have stomach cramps afterward?
The VFuel Endurance Gels come in a lot of flavors. Short of GU, they probably have the most energy gel flavors. The flavors of VFuel Endurance Gels include Mountain Berry, Peach Cobbler, Vanilla, Fudge Brownie, Cool Citrus, Salted Caramel Apple, and Raspberry Lemonade.
The pouches of VFuel are easy to rip open, and you shouldn’t have an issue with that.
Flavors I tried:
- Fudge Brownie: Fudge Brownie has caffeine, but it doesn’t cause you to feel jittery. I forgot how much I enjoyed chocolate gels. The Fudge Brownie does not feel too thick, and it’s easy to consume.
- Mountain Berry: The Mountain Berry has been my favorite. It’s a lightly flavored berry and tastes smooth.
- Raspberry Lemonade: In the past, I’ve had lemonade flavored gels feel “too tart,” but that hasn’t been the case with the raspberry lemonade. It’s sweet enough that it’s gentle on your stomach.
- Peach Cobler: I didn’t know how I would feel about this flavor but found it to be more peachy and, in my opinion, easier to consume as a gel.
- Cool Citrus: While this was my least favorite of the bunch, I still enjoyed the flavor (not typically a citrus fan). I found it to taste good.
All of the flavors of VFuel Endurance Gels I tried were fine. They aren’t “too thick,” so you won’t feel overwhelmed. They go down quickly, and I haven’t had any muscle cramps with water.
Do VFuel Endurance Gels work? Yes, you definitely feel the energy shortly after consuming then. You don’t have any sugar highs, and like VFuel claims, you won’t have any “stomach bombs.”

I’ve been a big fan of the VFuel Endurance Gels so far. I find they sit well in my stomach and provide the energy for longer runs. Plus, they are one of the cheaper gel options right now, so what more do you need?
