I was excited to try the TOZO OpenEgo headphones. OpenEgo aimed to make high-quality sound with user-friendly features. I’ve struggled to find headphones that stay on my ears while running. Or if they do, they are big and bulky. I wanted earbuds, but wanted them to stay on while working out. Before trying them I had a few questions:
- Do TOZO OpenEgo headphones stay on your ears? I haven’t had any issues with them sliding around even while working out.
- Are TOZO OpenEgo headphones good for working out? Yes. I’ve gone running several times with no issues of them sliding around.
- Is the TOZO OpenEgo headphones sound quality good? Yes. Open ear design means you can hear sounds around you (which is important for running) but Tozo also doesn’t sacrifice sound quality.

My experience with TOZO OpenEgo headphones:
I was looking for new headphones that would actually stay on my ear. While I don’t mind AirPods, I’ve found they don’t always stay on my ear while running and there is nothing worse than doing a race or workout and they fall out. They are “fine” but not the greatest.
When I first powered the TOZO OpenEgo headphones on, I realized you actually have to power each headphone on. This is maybe the first headphone I’ve had to turn on both sides. Not like it’s a big deal, but interesting. The TOZO OpenEgo headphones are comfortable on the ears, and I haven’t had any issues with them sliding around or falling. I’ve taken them out for several runs including fast, easy, and workouts with no issues. I’ve also used them for chores around the house and haven’t had a problem of them sliding around.
As far as sound quality, I find the TOZO OpenEgo headphones to be pretty good. I appreciate the music is good and I can clearly hear podcasts. If you’ve never used open ear headphones, the music is not going to be as good as say something that goes into your ear or noise-canceling. That’s not what these headphones are designed for. But the TOZO OpenEgo headphones are great for running and working out outdoors.
Cost:
TOZO OpenEgo headphones are currently the cheapest open headphone I know of on the market. While they are usually $99.99, they are currently priced at $49.99. So, if you are looking for an inexpensive headphone, you can’t get cheaper than that.
Conclusion
If you are looking for a high-quality option, the TOZO OpenEgo headphones are a great choice. You get high-quality audio, without going into your ears. Plus, it’s the current cheapest option on the market. It’s still surprising it’s (currently April 2024) priced at below $50. Even at $100, the value is still there.
Who should buy the TOZO OpenEgo headphones? If you’re looking for a design that you can hear your surroundings. Plus, they are just an inexpensive headphone.
Who should not purchase the TOZO OpenEgo headphones? If you’re looking for an in-ear design or looking for the best sound quality ever, you may find the open ear design not for you.
