It’s funny, I don’t try the Brooks Launch every year, and typically I only try it for limited-edition versions. I always like the Fourth of July Color and this year is no different. The Brooks Launch 7 is available in several different colors but I am a creature of habit and purchased the Brooks Launch 7 in the Fourth of July color.
Like many people during the pandemic, I’ve had extra time. I have the time to run more mileage. It’s been easier to add a mile here and a mile there and suddenly you think: How did I end up with so many miles?
One of the most important things you can do is ease into running slowly. Running too much, too soon, will result in an injury. With so many gyms closed, it’s challenging to cross-train or strength train. If you’re increasing weekly running mileage, it’s essential to do so slowly. Nothing in running or fitness comes overnight. In fact, not much in life does.
I’ve been around the running industry for many years now and it’s been fun to watch the running brand Tracksmith. Tracksmith is an independent running apparel brand. That means you can only buy Tracksmith through their company website or in their shop in New England. Do I wish they were in local running stores? Of course.
Recently I decided to out and hike at the Batsto River in Wharton State Park. I’ve hiked and ran several times in Wharton State Park. It’s a relatively easy area to run and walk. If you’re looking for easy trails to bring family or pets, I suggest Wharton. You also don’t get much elevation change in South Jersey.
Recently I got take out at the Court House Diner in Cape May Court House). It’s somewhat confusing, but Cape May Court House is a town in New Jersey just north of Cape May. This wasn’t just any take out though; it took strategic planning. My husband and I flew down to the Wildwood Airport then rode our bikes up to Cape May House Court House (roughly 9 miles). Planning this specific trip was why I decided to start biking. I honestly didn’t know if I could ride the 18 miles round trip!
