Richie’s Diner (Rancho Cucamonga)

Richie's Diner (Rancho Cucamonga)

Recently I was at Richie’s Diner in Rancho Cucamonga. The same diner that is associated with “Richie’s Real Diner” in Temecula. I liked the one in Temecula a lot, so I decided to hit up this one too. For whatever reason, this one doesn’t have the “real” in it. The location in Rancho Cucamonga is their newest location.

Richie’s Diner Atmosphere: A

I was driving home, so I decided to get take out, and I am so glad I did. It was PACKED. In fact, I really haven’t seen a diner that busy in a long time. Luckily my food was ready when I got there. Otherwise, I would have probably waited at least 30 minutes for the food.

Anyway, Richie’s Diner has everything you expect in a diner. The exterior is chrome and shiny. The interior has plenty of booths and tables. When you walk in, you’re located near a small center area with candy. There is a full-length bar in the back too. In all, you can’t get a more stereotypical diner than Richie’s Diner.

Coffee: X

Since we were on the go, I didn’t get coffee this time around.

Richie’s Diner Food: B

The Richie’s Diner menu has almost everything you expect in a diner. You can see the full Richie’s Diner menu here. There is a full page of specials and plenty of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. They are well known for their smoked meats and tri-tip, too, of my favorite things. They also have a couple of pages dedicated to wine and alcohol.

I decided to order a chicken BLT with french fries. Chicken on a BLT sounded interesting and slightly more filling. The chicken BLT came with chicken, three strips of cherrywood bacon with lettuce, red onion, tomato, and Best Foods mayo.Richie's Diner (Rancho Cucamonga) chicken blt

Since it was already 2 pm, I didn’t want to be full for dinner later. The chicken BLT was fine. It wasn’t unusually great, and the french fries were fine. They weren’t overly cooked or undercooked. I find crinkle fries to be one of the more underappreciated types of french fries. The meal was decent, but I wouldn’t say it was exciting or great.

Richie’s Diner Service: A

You can easily order online, and the food was ready when I arrived. Despite being extremely busy, the hostess was friendly, and I have no complaints.

Richie’s Diner Cost: $

For the chicken BLT, it was $13.55.

Overall Thoughts/Would I Come back?

I found Richie’s Diner to be good. Personally, I had a better experience at Richie’s Real Diner in Temecula, but this was decent. I have to wonder if I just hit them at a super busy and off time for take-out. I’m definitely interested in stopping again and trying their tri-tip. In all, it was a good experience, and I will be back.
