August flew by! It’s my first month of living in California. It’s been hard to get fully settled. After spending a couple of weeks househunting, we finally found a house we can afford and liked in Napa. It’s been fun to have a complete change of scenery./ While I miss friends in New Jersey, the new change has been exciting and fun.
Of anything (life, job searching), running has been going the best. It’s consistent and you can get out the door most anywhere.
So in the epic battle of trail running vs road running…which is better?
Hint, they are both running and both equally as good.
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll notice that a lot of my runs have been on trails since moving to California. It isn’t that I avoided trails when living in New Jersey, but finding trails that were easily accessible and more than a few miles long was difficult and could require at least an hour drive. Now, in California, I can access trails from my house or a five-minute drive.
Let me tell you, before doing some research; I had no idea what adaptogens were…heck I could barely spell them. Recently I learned about Four Sigmatic Adaptogens. If you are like me, you may have no idea what Adaptogens are and if you should take that kind of supplement.
As I begin to explore more of Napa, I’ve recently come across Alston Park. As you can tell from the photos, I’ve already been a few times because it’s easy to get too and an enjoyable park.
Located in Northwest Napa, Alston Park is roughly 157 acres. There are about 3 miles of trails and rolling hills with views of Napa and Napa Valley. The backdrop is beautiful; in fact, it’s where I saw the hot air balloons land last week. I’ve run and hiked at Alston Park, and it’s nice to have a beautiful local park.
