Cosmos Diner and Restaurant (Wilmington, DE)

Last week, I went to Cosmos Diner and Restaurant in Wilmington, DE. Growing up in VA, there was a Cosmos Diner right down the road from us. As teenagers, we would love to go.  Long story short, they moved the entire building to a completely different state, and the diner no longer exists.  It has nothing to do with this Cosmos Restaurant, but it does give me nostalgia.

Cosmos Diner (Wilmington) Atmosphere: B
When I arrived for lunch at Cosmos Diner (Wilmington), it was busy, but I still managed to get a table. Sitting in the middle wasn’t my first choice, but when it’s busy, it’s busy. The outside Cosmos Diner (Wilmington) is all cobblestone, while the inside has plenty of booths, tables, and a bar.

There wasn’t anything too unique about Cosmos Diner (Wilmington), but it’s a big space with plenty of seating.

Cosmos Diner (Wilmington) Coffee: A
The coffee was hot and fresh, and the whipped cream was homemade! I haven’t had homemade whipped cream in a while, so it was a pleasant and exciting treat.

Cosmos Diner (Wilmington) Food: B
The Cosmos Diner menu has everything you expect from a diner with a little greek flare.  I wasn’t sure what I wanted to order but settled on the Greek Plate Appetizer and a breakfast sandwich.

The Greek Plate was good and came with Grilled Pita, Kalamata Olives, Cucumbers, Tomatoes, & Feta Cheese. It was served with fresh Tzatziki Sauce.

I was relatively disappointed with the breakfast BLT sandwich at Cosmos Diner (Wilmington). While it was good, I hoped for more. Maybe a side? It just seemed boring with just the sandwich. It was a good sandwich but nothing too exciting.

Cosmos Diner (Wilmington) Service: B
Our waitress at Cosmos Diner (Wilmington) was friendly, and our food came out fast. The issue was when we went to get the check; it took a long time. I needed to hit the road, but it took a while. In all, it was good service minus when I needed to leave.

Cosmos Diner (Wilmington) Price: $$
For my appetizer, sandwich, and coffee, it was $25.

Overall Thoughts/Would I Come Back to Cosmos Diner (Wilmington)?
I liked Cosmos Diner (Wilmington), and it’s a good stop for anyone passing through Wilmington or local. I would go back. I would probably order a lunch item next time.

  1. I used to always go to the Peterpank diner in jersey but it’s now closed and turned into a WaWa lol

    1. I remember it closing because the week before, I wanted to go! Then I was too late. 🙁

  2. When I was growing up we always went to Omega Restaurant in Downer’s Grove, IL (near Chicago) and I would always get a pancake sandwich made with turkey sausage and with breakfast potatoes on the side which I LOVED and still do! 😀

    1. What a fun idea for a breakfast sandwich. There is actually an Omega Diner about an hour North.
