Weekend Fun

How was your weekend?

I didn’t do a whole heck of a lot this weekend but relax.

I’ve started doing a massive cleanup of my house lately. One thing I do like about moving is that you don’t keep a lot of useless clutter.  If I haven’t worn a piece of clothing or used an item in months, I don’t keep it.  I think decluttering your life is one of the best things you can do you for yourself mentally and physically.  It feels nice not to have a bunch of useless junk laying around the house.

I also watched a few movies this weekend.  It was a very relaxing weekend for that.

I finally decided to go see the movie Trainwreck.  I’m a couple of weeks late but it has been a movie I’ve been dying to see.  Friday night before racing seemed like a good night.

I also rented the movie Four Minute Mile on Saturday.  It was really motivational for running and in life.

Both were really good and I would recommend them.

On Saturday I ran the “Run for the Hill of it” 5 miler in Philadelphia.  It is a great cause supporting funding towards domestic violence.  The cause alone made me want to run the race.  I didn’t have to work so I was able to travel further for a race.  I also got to meet long time twitter friend Kara, and we ended up going to the Trolley Car diner afterwords.

The Trolley Car Diner is well known for their donuts.  The diner review will have to wait a few weeks but long story short, I’ll probably be back at least once in the next week.  The donuts were amazing.

  1. I haven’t been to the movies in forever, but Clay and I want to see Vacation Movie. It is the same people as the old National Lampoon’s Vacation from the 1980s. We love those movies so we’ll probably be seeing that in the next few weeks. Besides that my weekend was kinda blah, had to go out of town for a funeral and I rested and watched a lot of TV…

  2. I thought Trainwreck was absolutely hilarious. I was laughing the entire time. I want to go see Southpaw this week… love me some Jake Gyllenhaal.

  3. I need to see Train Wreck! My grandma even saw it..she said it was funny but a bit too “off color” for her..haha! Four Minute Mile looks great too. I love inspiring running movies, especially before a race!

  4. Ah I really liked trainwreck! I’m a big fan of Amy Schumer. And I’m an even BIGGER fan of cleaning!! I looove to clean out closets and boxes and all of that. I actually often go over to friends houses and help them clean out their stuff too. It’s one of my favorite activities 🙂

  5. I just saw Trainwreck on Friday! I enjoyed it, although I don’t typically appreciate some of the vulgarity that was present in the movie. There were moments that were so hilarious that I cried I was laughing so hard!

  6. Your weekend sounds exactly like what I’m planning for next weekend. Relaxation, running, and movies. I might take myself to go see Trainwreck. It looks hilarious! Glad you got to relax and I’m not kidding when I say I want to try those donuts.

  7. I’m a huge fan of decluttering as well. I actually start feeling a little stressed out when I feel like I have too much useless stuff lying around, so I’m constantly going through it to see what I can give away or get rid of. And the last movie I saw in theatres was Paper Towns, which I thought was okay but I kind of wish I had read the book first.

  8. I’ve been wanting to see Trainwreck and also Magic Mike (if I’m being honest here!). Perhaps that’s one I should go to alone. Haha. I spent a lot of time outdoors this weekend which is my fave thing ever in summer!

  9. I really want to see trainwreck too. I feel like there’s always a movie I want to see in theatres but I just never get around to it.
this weekend was great. went boating a few hours one day and the next i just vegged and binge watched netflix. not the worst 🙂

  10. I wanted to see Trainwreck but it came out on the same day as Ant-Man, which won. Ant-Man is also very good! Hopefully I get to see Trainwreck soon
