Staying Busy

Since coming home at the end of April, my life has gone from 0 to 180 and back to 0 again.  It’s not in a good or a bad way but my life schedule and routine has been anything but consistent!

Last week I went through a lot of routine and schedule changes. Instead of being extremely busy this summer, I’ll have a much more laid back schedule.

This has left me with a lot more time! In May I felt like I was constantly moving around and I was never able to just relax for a moment.  With both my husband and I’s schedule, we never truly get into a routine.  Neither of us have typical 9-5 jobs so free time is at the most random times!

I also felt like I didn’t have a lot of time to see friends and family.  With all of the things changing, I have more time.  I’m excited for June and to catch up with many people who I haven’t seen since before or during the wedding.  It’s hard to believe that was two months ago!

Last week I was able to do a lot of fun things. On Tuesday, I hung out with Lauren at a local diner in Pennsylvania. Of course I’ll do a diner review this weekend! Lauren was one of the first bloggers I started following so it was nice to hang out. It was nice to chat over lunch.

Next stop for our adventures is the King of Prussia mall…can you believe I’ve never been there?

Then on Sunday, my coworker and I went into Philadelphia. Despite living so close, I barely get into the city. I’ve mentioned before that I’m not a city person and I get lost in my neighborhood. I

We went to the restaurant Farmicia for brunch. They had gorgeous mimosa and their food was delicious.  It’s a place I would highly recommend.

After brunch we walked around the city and into the Harbor. We met up with another friend and ended up having a beer in the beer garden.   I loved the ambiance. I wish I had taken more photos but my phone died…

I have to say I’m enjoying catching up with friends and family. I have a lot of fun summer plans that I’m looking forward too!

Questions for you:

Do you have any big summer plans?

Have you ever been into Philadelphia?

  1. I have been to Philly and I have been to KoP… but that was in 2005 so I’m sure a lot has changed now. It’s hard to believe it’s been 10 years since I’ve been to PA, but I was in college then. It was an honors college trip and we had a lot of fun. I’d love to go back!

Looks like you had fun going to the diner and out for breakfast and that mimosa looks so yummy! I love mimosas :).

  2. Looks like a good amount of fun-busy, missy!

Big summer plans = bwahahahaha yesssssssss. In fact, we’re overbooked. I’m taking a few online courses, we’re traveling, I gotta tri, and standing up in a friend’s wedding. That’s just July. :O

I HAVE been to Philly! I did the RnR a few years ago. LOVED it there.

  3. I lived in Philly for graduate school which was awesome. I definitely did not expect to love it as much as I did, and I think my time there actually turned me into the foodie I am – so many great restaurants!

  4. So jealous you got to hang out with Lauren! I get that feeling of being completely overwhelmingly busy to having a ton of free time. I go in waves of getting to see friends and then not seeing anyone for months. In some ways it keeps life more exciting! I haven’t spent a ton of time in philly but it is a cool city. It’s not that far from Baltimore so I should try to go up there more often.

  5. This is perfect, because I’m going to Philly later this month! Dan and I are trying to go to all the major league ball parks, and we’ll be visiting the philly’s stadium as well as mets and yankees. I’ll have to check out these places! I live in Pittsburgh, so I was raised a Philly hater and have only been there once..it’ll be fun to actually explore the city!

  6. Although you’re having trouble getting into a routine because of your changing schedules, I love the fact you have more time this summer so we can keep hanging out! Haha! Does that make me selfish? Hashtag sorrynotsorry.

I cannot believe I’ve known you for so long. Even before you met Tim! Time flies and I can’t wait to walk around aimlessly in KOP with you. Start saving up!

  7. Philly is such a fun city! It’s one of my favorite places to visit. I’m already looking forward to going back this November for the half with a few friends.

  8. Clearly you know I love Philly. So much. It’s a fabulous city. Every time I go back I fall in love all over again. Except when it’s winter or I’m stuck in traffic. Can’t wait to be spending more time up there in the next couple of years for school 🙂

  9. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the blonde hair. lately i’ve been wanting to go back to my platinum blonde hair.. but I’ll stick with the red cause it’d be hard to go that blonde again.
i’m looking forward to exploring new cities.. Mississippi won’t have too much to offer but it’s within driving distance of a lot of cool places 🙂

  10. Looks like you had an excellent weekend! It’s always great to catch up with friends you haven’t seen in a while. I got to hang with my childhood best friend this weekend after not seeing each other in years! Hopefully we can diner-dish soon. 🙂

  11. I’ve never been to Philly! But it looks like you had an awesome weekend. I hate when cameras die and you can’t take pictures, because then it seems like all the cool stuff happens right when you can’t capture the moment.

  12. hehehe, I’m not much of a city person either. It sounds like you had an awesome day! I want to lie in a hammock. *-*

I’ve been to Philadelphia twice! :O I have an exam there later this year, so I guess I’ll be heading back then too! 😛

  13. I went to KOP a couple of years ago when we were visiting family friends. It was SO BIG! (and expensive). The spectacle was what I loved a lot more than the prices. We ate at a 60s style diner complete with pink uniforms and BIG HAIR. I went to Philly to speak at the North Atlantic Sports Psychology conference at Temple U. I loved the conference, but felt like there was so much trash everywhere 😦 The Phillies and Eagles stadiums were pretty cool to see though.
