Thursday Thoughts

This week has gone by so quickly. Does anyone else feel like when you have a lot to do, the week flies by? Every week we get a little bit further into summer. I feel like in the blink of an eye summer will be gone!

Anyways this post is all over the place like Thursdays normally are…but no surprise there.

About a year ago I broke my favorite glasses.  I have been needing a new pair but it got lost in the cracks of things to do.  I was really excited when Firmoo contacted me to review a pair of eyeglasses.  I was really excited that the timing worked out really well. I needed new glasses and a glasses company contacted me to review their product. Winning!

The firmoo website is really easy to use. I uploaded my doctors prescription and ordered a pair.  I was nervous because obviously I didn’t try them on before ordering them. Once they came in, I loved them. I went with something a little bit more fashion forward and that I would wear in public.  I used to wear my glasses frequently so I’m excited to do that again!

It took about 7 days from ordering to receiving. That’s normally the same time as being fitted in store. I’m really impressed.  The glasses are really nice and I’ve gotten a few compliments.  Plus they aren’t expensive (with prescription it’s about 100 dollars).  Firmoo sent me the first pair for free but I’ll probably order a second pair.  In cliff notes, I am really glad I was given this opportunity and I love my glasses.  I recommend them if you are in the market for new ones (or like their frames because you can get them without prescription).

Moving on…My Confession of the week: I’ve become a smoothier.  Laura got us a Nutribullet for our wedding and ever since then I find myself making smoothies.  I’ve only ventured into using it for smoothies (I know there are so many other cool things to make with it!)

Yesterday I went to Target to get spinach and milk.  A summertime trash can, printed party pants, some other random household baskets and mattress pad later…I come home.  I did get the spinach and milk but I’m a cliche Target shopper.

Continuing with this post with no “flow”: Today I get to meet up with Mike and Allison.  This is a really exciting day.  They both are the creators of the fit frame app.   They are traveling from Europe to the US and stopped in NYC.  Since NYC is only a couple hours from me we decided to meet a diner.  So classy!  I’ve been waiting for this all month LOL.

Is this already the last week of May?  May felt like I was playing catch up from being gone so hopefully June will be a little less busy.

As you can see my mind is all over the place this week. I keep saying next week will be less busy but I’m starting to feel like there is always something popping up. I don’t mind though because I truly enjoy my life, job, running, friends and everything in between.

  1. I’ve been meaning to buy new glasses for a few months now, but I’m having the hardest time trying to find a frame that I like. I’ve needed glasses since I was about 10 years old, and while I’d love to get laser, I have astigmatism which I heard makes things a little more complicated. So I’ll stick to contacts… and go glasses shopping 😆

  2. I only make smoothies in mine too… because I can’t cook. I got it for Christmas a few years ago and it’s amazing. I like to do cold brew coffee, chocolate protein powder, almond milk, and ice to make a homemade frappucino for after my runs. It’s especially good in the summertime! I also like strawberry whey protein, frozen banana (gives the smoothies a really good consistency), frozen strawberries, almond milk, and some sugar free, fat free cheesecake flavored jello pudding. That makes a strawberry cheesecake smoothie :). I’ve also put spinach in them and a drop of mint extract to make a fake “shamrock shake”. I probably have a smoothie 5 days out of the week for breakfast post-workout…

    I didn’t even know you wore glasses. I used to and still have a pair of backup ones but never wear them. Once I became a contacts girl I never went back…

    1. I’ve posted photos with glasses before. Not recently but that is only due to mine breaking.

      I have been enjoying making more iced coffees for sure! Especially after today’s run…it was so hot!

  3. I wear glasses but hardly ever replace them, since I only wear them at night and wear contacts during the day. I love smoothies, especially since its been so warm out!
    I love your little Target cartoon…its so true. I am a cliché target shopper as well. I think my husband is on to me because lately he has been offering to tag along on my target trips, but I know he hates going to places like that:)

  5. Love the new glasses! You are going to love the nutribullet I have one too (for some reason I thought you already had one!). @urbanfitopia always has amazing ones smoothie recipes. I wear glasses but I think only a handful of people actually see me in them!

  6. Cute glasses–and so much like ones I used to wear in the late 80s! I had lasik a few years back and I’m so glad I did. I really love not needing anything.

    And I love my smoothies, too!

  7. I am totally blind, so I wear contacts during the day for work and exercise, but prefer to wear glasses – just make my eyeballs feel better!! Something random about my week – I’ve worn the same pants to work every day and I don’t think anyone has noticed #ForTheWin. Hope you have a great Thursday!

  8. I need new glasses really badly. I wear them every night before bed because I’m blind. I’ve had a few issues recently with my contacts and had to wear my glasses for days on end, so I’d love to have a new non-scratched pair. I looked at their website…I love some of the designs, but I don’t know if I’d be comfortable buying without trying on.

    Something totally not random: I get married a week from tomorrow!

  9. I am legally blind, so YES I wear glasses. And I have to pay so much for the glass to not look like coke bottles hahah. I tend to wear glasses, but in the summer and when exercising I usually go for contacts. I remember when I first got glasses in 5th grade, and was SO shocked at being able to see in windows and details of things!!

    no nutribullet, but lots of smoothies! I tend to prefer drinking my greens rather than eating salads (i get bored, so I put more “stuff” on the salad, until it doesn’t resemble a salad anymore haha), so smoothies are great for me!

    Random- hmm. I have three 4-day work weeks in a row! All for that….

  10. I get on and off the smoothie train at regular intervals. Sometimes I am just too lazy/hungry to make a smoothie when there is cereal and milk right there. I save like 60 seconds. My belly cares =P The random part of my week was the reality TV show like drama at work. It’s hysterical and I love it!
