Friday Updates: Dec 12

Working in retail, this begins a busy few weeks for me.  I wish I had more time to hang out but this is one our most busy times of year.  Instead of personal reading and browsing the internet, I’ve been spending a lot more time with loved ones, friends and family (outside of work).  The Holidays only come once a year.  😉

We were also hit with some personal matter so I’m been off the internet more anyways.  We found out a few days ago T will be deployed very soon again. It was very short notice (think he found out on Monday, he was missing his birthday, Christmas, New Years and Valentines day). Long story short, calculating it out he will have been gone over 8 months of our 12 month engagement.  That’s the military life though and I’m glad to have friends to chat with.  While I don’t post a lot about relationship, it is strong and we are extremely happy together.  I don’t need to justify or prove that via blogging.  This isn’t the first quick changing plans we’ve had and it won’t be the last.  So that was rough news at the start of the week.

Does this photo justify we are happy? Okay good...

On to more positive things though!

  1. I’m seeing my sister play a lead in the city’s Pantomime tomorrow!!!! Work’s Christmas night out tonight and Sunday I have a duathlon! I loved the hipster Santa pic!

  2. I don’t even know how I’m spending new year’s yet! That’s like 3 weeks off, haha. I do have a race on Jan 1 so I will probably go to bed right after midnight. It’s just a 5K race and for fun but I like my sleep :).

Sorry to hear about Tim’s deployment. I know that’s military life and you deal with it, but I can imagine it’s really hard during the holidays AND when trying to plan a wedding. The pic of you guys drinking coffee is super cute, too. You seem to have a really strong relationship and will get through it *hugs*.

  3. Thanks for the shout out – and LOL to that video … I might be a guy, but after nearly a quarter century of marriage … well, just lol.

Also, sorry to hear about Tim’s deployment, I know that has to be stressful – it is the person you love, after all. But what bugs me? Is that I inferred from what you wrote that people have been questioning your relationship or second-guessing things? Ugh … people. Seriously?

This weekend feels crazy even though it hasn’t started! Both kids have things after school until tonight, then a Christmas party. Wife and older son have to work both days (yay retail), and the kids have another party on Saturday night! Me? Plenty to do around the house … and a couple of ~40F days all set for long runs. Yes I am done shopping. And that wine isn’t just going to drink itself!

  4. I’m sorry he’s being deployed again! I know that’s military life, but time goes by so fast, and you’ve seemed to have dealt with it really well in the past. This weekend is the beginning of my break and I’m probably just going to laze around and enjoy it. New Years will be spent in Seattle.

  5. I was about to say that it’s too early to start planning New Year’s, but then I realized that we’re only like 3 weeks away from 2015. That being said, I have absolutely no idea what I’m doing 😆 I do know that I’ll be meeting some friends this weekend and hopefully getting some Christmas things done. The holidays are sneaking up on me this year, big time…

  6. This weekend I am running a fun 5k with my sister called “It’s a Wonderful Run”. I think we are dressing up and just having a good time 🙂

  7. Sorry to hear about the deployment news. It’s clear you have a strong relationship, which will help you get through it. And I have no idea what’s on the schedule for NYE yet. Some friends and I are talking about doing a race in Central Park, but we also want to drink champagne so … 🙂

  8. I think I clicked on like every link you put in this post, haha. I always love the stuff you share! Also, I’m really sorry about Tim’s deployment news. I’m glad you two have such a strong relationship and really are so happy together!
