Random Life Answers.

I like to learn more about a person outside of blogging, athletics and food.   While I’ll never remember what your favorite color is, I do think providing insight on what you do outside the internet, working out and work is highly fascinating-to me anyways.  I’m always nosy about other people’s lives (isn’t that why we read other people’s blogs?).

I thought I would answer some of these questions:

What TV shows do you watch?

Currently my favorite TV shows are:

Awkward (MTV)

America’s Next Top Model (CW)

Bar Rescue (Bravo)

Restaurant Impossible and Mystery Diners (Food Network)

I like trashy tv as well as a mix of reality tv.  I don’t watch a lot of tv but when I do it’s most likely these shows.  Once the new season of Beyond Scared Straight comes back, I’ll be watching that too.

Where were you born?

San Diego, CA

What states have you traveled too?

The states I’ve lived in are marked in blue and the states I’ve traveled in/through are marked in gold.  This doesn’t include quick layovers in airports.  My dad was in the Navy, so we did a lot of traveling (and living overseas too) when I was younger.  I wish I could travel more now and experience that.  A lot of these are just from 2013 funny enough (I moved 4 times in

states I've lived in 1

What is something on your bucket list?

This question was actually pretty difficult.  I’ve never made a formal bucket list before.  I don’t want to use the cliché “go skydiving” or “travel the world”.  I would like to do something that puts me way out of my comfort zone.  Something that tests me physically, mentally, and emotionally…what that is, I don’t know.  I know I eventually will.

Where is one place in the world you want to travel?

I would like to go back to England and Germany.  I was young when we lived in England but I would love to go back.  I want to travel to Australia at some point in my life too.

What is something you like to treat yourself with?

I try to treat myself monthly with something around $100.  That could be a nice new hair cut, new clothing, a new purse I’ve been eying up…whatever.  It’s never anything I absolutely need.  This month I really want to get my hair cut.

Do I have enough hair probably not.

Do I have enough hair products…no probably not.

Who is your best friend?

That is really tricky for me.  I would have four woman that I consider myself best friends with.  In fact, I need to finish my bridesmaids gifts this week so I can send them out and ask them to be party of my wedding party.  Thanks for reminding me random blogging question I’m answering.

So happy Monday.  Enjoy your day and I will enjoy my day off cleaning up the house and finish these gifts.

Questions for you:

What states have you traveled too?

What TV shows do you watch?

Tell me a random fact about your week.

  1. First, my favorite color is blue lol. I love trash reality tv. All the housewives, total divas, below deck but I’m really looking forward to walking dead coming back. We watch about an hr of tv a night that isn’t cartoons so we record them all and pick one a night.
You have moved so much! I grew up in the same house in my small town my whole life. My mom’s dad was in the army so she refuses to move any more. It’s nice you got to see the world with your family. I’ve moved 3 times in the last three years but they’ve all been in the same town.

  2. I have traveled to most of the ‘major’ states at one point or another, but have only lived in Massachusetts and NY. Mass will always be my home, with western NY being way to ‘middle America’ for my personality / tastes (being the only person in a room of >20 men/women who wasn’t a gun owner/hunter put it in perspective a few weeks ago!)

I’m not a reality TV fan, except for some cooking shows – but most of those have become ‘all drama’ as well, so we will watch some House Hunters.

We watch Rookie Blue, Grimm, Supernatural, Doctor Who, Castle, and a few other random ones. Watched Madame Secretary last night and it was enjoyable – some good character actors we like from other stuff.

This week? Two birthdays – Lisa turned 49 and our older son Danny turned 18 – made for a very busy week including a formal dinner party for 10 of Danny’s friends, then the Senior celebration at the last home football game (first game the football team won all season as well!) … and Lisa and I got in a ‘date night’ to see Gone Girl (worth reading and seeing)

  3. I have only travelled to New York, Florida and California. But I did have a stop over in Chicago and Atlanta once (doesn’t count).

I watch: Big Bang Theory, Grey’s Anatomy, Parenthood, Amazing Race and Parenthood

Fun fact: I have travelled to more US states (3) than Canadian provinces (2) even though I live in Canada…..

    • Canadian providences are huge though! Which one do you live in? I went to school in Upstate NY so I went to Canada a few times! 🙂

  4. Awww love it Hollie! This was interesting, and you are right, it is nice to know the person behind the blog. I am working on my bridesmaids cards today too. It is an exciting process! Love that you have traveled a lot. I am trying to work my way around the 50 states! Thats something enjoyable to do 🙂 Have a wonderful day!

  5. Love this post! You’re right- it’s fun to learn about other people’s lives.

My list is somewhat similar to yours in that I’ve lived in NY, MA and OH and then only visited states really just on both coasts. I have beem to some of the middle states (especially over the past few years); however, most of my travel has been on the East Coast and West Coast. I guess I’m due for a trip soon!

  6. I’m from North Dakota and I’m going to college in MInnesota. I’ve also been to Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and my family goes to Florida every year. Outsude of America I’ve been to Canada, Bahamas, Mexico, Jamaica, and The Cayman Islands.

I don’t really watch tv, I get bored with it.

One random fact about my week is that I got my first visitor at college! My neighbor who is like a family member came to see me.

  7. Fun fact – While I’ve only lived in 2 states (NY and PA) I’ve traveled to 39 states. Outside the US I’ve been to 6 of the 7 continents — and lived in Manchester UK for part of 98. I love to travel. It’s my drug. Next up is central America

  8. We love Bar Rescue. Clay and I watch it all the time. Restaurant Impossible is good too and there’s one about hotels, I don’t remember the name of it but we watch it as well.

  9. Random weird fact about me is that I don’t watch TV at all anymore and haven’t for almost 2 years. I can’t even explain why, I just don’t have interest anymore! I used to have maybe 4 shows I’d watch all the time and just one day had enough. Weird I know 🙂

  10. Wait, do we really exist outside of work, working out, and the Internet? It’s possible I watched a Real Housewives of New Jersey marathon yesterday. It just sucked me in–and I couldn’t turn it off!

  11. I’m only missing six states: Alaska, Hawaii, the Dakotas, Montana, and Idaho. That sounds like one road trip and two fun vacations to me!

  12. It’s always good to have some mindless TV on hand. Currently, I’ve been enjoying Naked & Afraid.

Aside from Canada as a kid, I’ve never traveled outside of this country. There are places here I’d like to see, but I’d also like to get into Europe and New Zealand (to see Bilbo’s house, of course).

  13. I’ve been to a lot of states. Most recently… Washington. I’d love to go back.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE TV. Current loves are trashy, soap-opera-y ones, like Revenge and Scandal. Which also happen to have single-word names.

This week….. I found out I’m going on another business trip. To Toronto!

  14. I had no idea that you lived in England! That’s definitely a place I’d love to visit one day. Australia too if I can psych myself up enough for the 24 hours of travel time 😆 I should really spend more time exploring the eastern parts of Canada and the States, though… I’ve hit all the western ones, but I never seem to manage to make my way out in the other direction…

  15. Traveled to : CA, NV, AZ, NY, NJ, MA, MN, NC, LA, MS, AL, TN, SC, VA, DC, KY, IL, FL, GA having lived in the last two.

Way to many shows to list

Random fact for the week : Heading to a rescue zoo with the kids.

  16. I’ve been to a lot of states- road trips growing up as well as family members that took my sister and I on trips. Definitely some great experiences but I am looking forward to travelling more. We need to plan a big girls get away weekend at some point. Travel somewhere fun and just enjoy a weekend!!

  17. This was fun to read! I think it’s so cool that you’ve traveled so much! I love all of your hair products. That’s awesome! My mom loves buying hair stuff, too!

  18. I don’t actually live in the states but i have been to New York, Las Vegas, Florida, Arizona & Chicago on my hols. And i realise that some of them aren’t states…….i struggle with the counties of England without knowing about other countries.

I’m really enjoying watching The Blacklist at the moment as well as Vikings. Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones & Walking Dead all get good viewings.

Random fact about my week. It’s my 33rd birthday tomorrow?? And i have spent the last week off work with a bad chest infection. Not a great week but hopefully it will get better!

    Great Post
