Cinnamon Roll Waffle

Cinnamon Roll Waffle

Cinnamon Roll Waffles aren’t that hard to make and don’t take a creative genius.  All you need to do is take a plain pancake or waffle and hoard a bunch of cinnamon in it…wasn’t that easy? Let’s be honest, cinnamon roll waffle or not, none of my recipes are complicated.

As a runner, I like to eat quickly after my run and these cinnamon roll waffles are easy, simple, and delicious.

Pillsbury cinnamon rolls inspired these cinnamon roll waffles. My mom would make them most weekend mornings.

Cinnamon Roll Waffle Ingredients:

Basic waffle ingredients:

2/3 cup flour (all-purpose flour, wheat flour, whatever you want)

1 egg

1 tablespoon oil

1 tsp baking powder

½-1 cup of liquid (milk, almond milk, water)

2 tablespoons sweetener (I used Stevia)

2 tablespoons brown sugar

Cinnamon (I just shook it in until I felt satisfied)

To add more foodie flavor to it, I added pears on top.

Cinnamon Roll Waffle Recipe:

  1. Preheat, a waffle maker
  2. Mix all dry ingredients together in a large bowl
  3. Add wet ingredients (including Baileys Creamer) together and mix in a separate mixing medium bowl.
  4. Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
  5. Pour waffle batter into waffle iron and cook until golden brown.
  6. After cooked, put on a plate and add a layer of melted butter, maple syrup, greek yogurt, chocolate chips, or Cinnamon Waffle “frosting.”

Cinnamon Roll Waffle Frosting:

¼ cup syrup (maple, agave, whatever you want)

¼ cup sweetener

2 tablespoons cream cheese at room temperature

1 tablespoon butter

Stir in ingredients then heat. You can heat in a small saucepan on low heat or microwave, both will work.  Then top the cinnamon roll waffle with the cinnamon roll frosting.

Hopefully, you absolutely love them and enjoy cinnamon roll waffle on the weekend!

  1. I love cinnamon rolls but they’r not my favorite breakfast because my blood sugar will seriously crash later. Sometimes I make a feta dip that is actually just neufchatel, milk, and a package of flavored feta cheese but people think I slaved over it. “Did you roast the garlic yourself?” Um, no, the garlic was already in the cheese!

  2. I’ve ordered cinnamon bun waffles before at restaurants and they’re seriously the best thing ever. When my roommate makes them she just takes cinnamon rolls and puts them into a waffle iron. Sooo good. Too bad my waffle iron is at school… We both know I’m definitely not a foodie. My idea of a complex recipe is using boxed pancake mix. I’m more likely to just take something out of the fridge and pop it in the toaster.

  3. Cinnamon Buns are a huge YAY for me 🙂 We have this coffee shop on campus that sells amazing ones the size of your face.
I know you say you are no “foodie” but I think this recipe is rather fancy haha

PS WELCOME BACK TO THE SOUTH 🙂

  4. Huge YAYA to cinnamon buns! Back in the dark ages, my mom would treat my sisters and me to a cinnamon bun if we behaved while shopping at the mall. 🙂

  5. Although people SAY they make the frosting a different way, I bet some bloggers do it the LOLZ style too. Haha. Aint no one got time to whip out a blender.

  6. I love how you call them cinnamon roll/bun waffles instead of just straight up cinnamon waffles – makes them sound so much fancier 😉 And I’m a big fan of shaking until it feels right. That’s how the true cinnamon addicts do it.

  7. Love it. Frosting made easy: 2 Tbsp of coconut milk yogurt. Powdered sugar ~ 2 Tbsp and then mix with a spoon or fork. Place in fridge while you make everything else and voila……

      1. haha! Genius. I’ll take words that are never used as adjectives for Jason Bahamundi Alex……..

  8. Love cinnamon rolls, especially frosting…okay anything with frosting is pretty much A-ok by me. And microwaving doesn’t make it less foodie it makes it more practical…I do that all the time.

  9. oh you fancy huh? okay this soudns awesome though. dumping cinnamon into the mix is whatever but add brown sugar and frosting and BAM. you can put Cinnabon out of business. I’m a huge fan of cinammon rolls…my roommate and I used to make them from the Pilsbury Doughboy can 😀

  10. Thanks for sharing this Hollie. Sometimes when I have visitors these are the kinds of recipes I prepare. I like fooling them too thinking I’m a genius when it comes to the kitchen LOL! 🙂 Anything with cinnamon adds a little “umph” to any food. I like to add it in my oatmeal.

  11. Honestly girl it is the easy recipes that make a good foodie 😉 at least in my opinion. I made an awesome crepe like thing once and it took like 10 minutes! And my sweet potato in a jar? simplest thing ever but ultra foodie in my opinion because the average person wouldn’t do it! I don’t know the last time I had a real cinnamon bun… Sad day. Good thing you posted this the day after I got a new epic waffle maker!!! 😀
