Breakfast Date with Shannon

On Saturday I got to finally meet a blogger I had recently started following (well 2 or so months ago).  When I found out she actually lived in my area, I immediately planned a means of attack…I mean…hang outShannon is fabulous, she is highly intelligent (dietetics major is no joke) and just a down to earth funny person.  It was certainly one of the highlights of being home and we have already made plans for another breakfast date.

Plus she went out on Black Friday and scored some serious deals.  Jealous because I have yet to start my Christmas or birthday shopping.  Too many people born in December.  Kidding.

So yes long story short, we went to a Restaurant called Baker’s Crust and I had a hard time choosing breakfast.  They had a lot of smoked salmon options as well as pancakes, waffles…ect. That being an understatement, I tend to get eggs a lot of the time because I can cook pancakes…I can’t cook eggs or omelets to save my life.  They look like goo.

So I got a goat cheese and crab omelet with spicy jalapeno toast.  You see, the jalapeño toast is important because the waiter proceeded to fist bump me and say great choice.  He later became a very obsessive, chatty and talkative waiter.  He was quite nice though, just willing to talk your ear off.

We spent the better of two hours just chatting and was such a nice morning…Though I was surprised the waiter didn’t follow us to the car.

Question for you:

  1. 1.       What is the weirdest waiter story you have?
  2. 2.       Do you like to eat out for breakfast?

  1. oh lordy. Sounds like a creepster to me! Glad it was fun though. I have had some pretty creepy waiters in my history of eating out. I actually dont like to eat out for breakfast. I’m not really much of a breakfast person. A protein shake or bagel is fine for me!

  2. Glad you guys had a fun time! Haha I love chatty waiters… so strange. Maybe he wanted to join in on the fun conversations. I’ll be going for the pancakes when we finally get to do a meet up, regardless of what time of day it is 🙂

  3. This is my favorite post, but I may be biased. And because I knew the waiter story I have proceeded to tell kailey the in depth stories of how talkative he was! At least he took our pic though! Girl I seriously had a blast though and couldn’t stop talking about the morning to my parents last night 😀 I can’t wait for broken egg over winter break!

  4. I actually do NOT like eating out for breakfast…I like going for coffee though! I like oatmeal for breakfast. Only oatmeal, don’t mess with that, and restaurant oatmeal is not as good as my (microwave, haha) oatmeal. I do like going out to eat lunch or dinner and getting eggs, french toast, or pancakes though?! A fist pump is very interesting from the waiter…

    • It’s hard for me to want to go breakfast when the other person doesn’t want to eat until like 10/11. Then I’m way to hungry…other then that I love it. Actually, optimally I like to go out to breakfast at like lunchtime that way I’m not starving like commuting in the morning!

  5. One time my friend and I had a really enthusiastic chatty waitress…at the end when she asked if we wanted coffee or tea…we decided we wanted tea. So she brings over the box of teas for us to choose….and very deliberately “whispers” loudly: “DON’T GET THE CRANBERRY TEA. YOU WILL GET THE RUNS.” We were in too much shock to laugh or respond. weirdest moment ever.

I love going out for breakfast because it’s such a treat for me. Breakfast places in the area always have the longest waits and don’t take reservations. I am the opposite of you- I always make eggs so I always order pancakes/waffles!

  6. Sounds like a fun blogger meet-up. I’m not a huge fan of eating out for breakfast. I’d much rather cook my own meal at home. Come to think of it, if I had to choose, I’d probably pick to eat for lunch over any other meals.
