Coffee Waffle

Coffee Waffle Recipe:

Monday’s seem a lot better (in my opinion) when there are waffles and pancake recipes involved.  I start every morning with coffee and most mornings with a waffle. Why has it taken me so long to combine coffee and waffles? Meet the coffee waffle.

Coffee Waffle Ingredients:

½ cup strong brewed coffee (instant coffee works just as well)
½ cup your choice of creamer or you add milk (for me it was French vanilla because that is all I had on hand)
1 egg
2/3 cup flour (all-purpose flour, wheat four, almond flour)
1 tablespoon baking powder
Sweetener to taste including vanilla extract (I add a lot because I like my coffee sweet!)

Yes, that is a pumpkin fork…don’t worry about it.

Coffee Waffle Recipe:

  1. Preheat waffle iron (I like my Belgian waffle maker)
  2. Mix all dry ingredients together in a large bowl
  3. Add wet ingredients together and mix in a separate mixing medium bowl.
  4. Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients.
  5. Pour waffle batter into waffle iron and cook until golden brown.
  6. After cooked, put on a plate and add a layer of melted butter, maple syrup, or greek yogurt.

There you have it. Easy coffee waffles. Coffee waffles are an easy way to start your Mondays or any day, really.

Questions for you: Do you like coffee? Have you ever tried a coffee waffle?

  1. My typical “Cup of Joe” is a Sugar free Rockstar— Ugh I know I need to break that habit fast. I love Pop and its just perfect– caffeine and Pop! Ill have to try these pancakes— other than coffee itself i’m not sure i’m a fan of coffee flavored foods!

  2. I had an awesome cappucino pie last week on vacation, pretty yummy coffee flavored dessert. Will have to try this recipe 🙂

  3. Coffee (now that I can drink it again!!) is usually done up with a splash of almond milk and some nunaturals sweetner. I don’t drink very much (I get SOOO wired!!), but I’m definitely loving it!!
Is it bad that my favourite thing to flavour with coffee is alcohol? haha. Promise, it doesn’t happen often. But I’m a huge fan of the coffee & Baileys or a coffee-based After Eight (Kahlua, Baileys, and creme de menthe).
I’ve never tried coffee flavoured waffles, but they’re going to be making an appearance Wednesday morning (my next day off!), for sure!!!

  4. Ooooh these are really cool! I love that you do all different types of waffles instead of keeping it plain. It mixes things up a bit! And your recipes are always 1000x easier than some of the other ones out there. I don’t have time for 37 different ingredients. Keeping it real, as always 🙂

  5. you just managed to combine my two favorite parts of breakfast – waffles & coffee. Oh and carbs 🙂

  6. I will enjoy coffee-flavoured anything. Coffee waffles (and also pancakes) would be incredible though – I also love the combination of coffee and dark chocolate.

Sigh. I miss my coffee now! I haven’t had any in a week because it was making me feel ill (mostly because I was vastly exceeding the amount of caffeine one person should have in a 12 hour timespan).

I *used to* drink my coffee very strong with lots of rice milk.

  7. you’ll prob think I’m a freak hahaha but I actually don’t like coffee.. I’ve tried so hard too because I was always jealous of girls in my class coming in with coffee mugs or iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts lol and there I was with my tea

  8. I loveee coffee black! The lovely gas station near me in San Diego has flavored pumpkin spice coffee, which is delicious, but other than that I don’t really like sweet coffee…unless I’m having a coffe-shop made mocha with whip (or gingerbread latte!)
I like coffee ice cream, coffee-cake (not coffee flavored but I can’t deny its deliciousness!), and I bet i’d love your coffee-waffles! 🙂
I hope you’re having a blast on break right now!!!
    xoxo!

    1. I am thank you! I love the pumpkin spice coffee at my station too. Sadly Tx does not have the deliciousness of that…I’ll just have to wait a few days LOL 😉

  9. This is seriously brilliant. I adore coffee but I try to limit it to a cup or two a day or my stomach starts hating on me big time. I wonder if it would tolerate my addiction in waffle form? Gonna have to test it out soon…

  10. holy yum!! I have never thought about putting those together! I love my coffee with anything. lately I am into gas station coffee and they have pumpkin spice!!!

  11. Um, yes!! Monday’s are better with either lots of coffee or lots of waffles… or both put together like you did. GENIUS!

  12. This post reminded me of the book “Amelia Bedila.” Ever read those? They were these silly little stories that I read in school when I was younger. Anyways, one of the books was about how Amelia Bedilia had to make a coffee cake for her boss. Well, she thought that coffee cake actually had “coffee” in it… I always thought that coffee-infused food would be delicious. And that waffle sure does look tasty 😀

  13. I’m not even a coffee fan, but wow hollie this recipe sound pretty awesome. I can only imagine how many peoples day you just made 🙂
