Cross Country Awards Banquet

So last night was the good ole award banquet for all the varsity sports at my college.   It was a lot of fun and it was nice to see people that I had not seen in a while because well you know…cross country has been over for close to 5 months.

First all the seniors were recognized.

Then I won the MVP award (Becky won Coaches award)  (PS: She is ENGAGED to another runner on our team)

And then we took a group photo.

Now since I have a free second to type up my thoughts, I will.  During my internship (in the fall), I will still be a student of my college.   I won’t be taking any courses or even be remotely close to my campus but I will still be paying tuition and a matriculated student.  The final step of getting handed (mailed) a diploma in the community health program at my school is to do an internship.  Meaning the following:

I will be competing one last season for my college for cross country.

If this was a spring sport, I couldn’t do it.  Lucky for me it isn’t and I can run again in fall.  🙂

  1. Congrats on MVP! I’m glad you get to still be on the team, but how will you swing it without being at the college? I mean with practices and meets and all? I get how you’re eligible though and that’s really great.

    Love the team pics!

    1. I’ll have to do the practices on my own. With my team though, easy runs were always done on your own time and then only time we had set in stone practices were with speed work.

Then my location is actually more central to a lot of our races so it makes it easier to get to them! 🙂

  2. congrats!! so cool that you get to compete another season–I wish my eligibility wasn’t up 🙁 4 years just isn’t enough

  3. Oh that’s so exciting!! You’re gonna rock next cross country season. Good thing your team gets their MVP back!

  4. I am so happy for you that u get to run another season!!! Its going to be not good, but great!! Keep eating lots of pancakes, train smart, rest, and keep on believing. I can’t wait to see what the Fall brings. 🙂

    1. I had to practice on my own my last yr of xc cause I was doing my student teaching. It was hard because I had to give 100% to my student teaching cause that was what was most important. I def didn’t even work very hard at running and soooo regret it. We made it to nationals my Jr yr, and I was just kinda over working soooo hard…but o’ how I wish I could turn back time.

  5. I am glad you will be running cross country one more time!! It’ll be really good for you.

Where did you get those shoes. I LOVE them!!
